Awesome theme, i'll see what i can do. Can be any genre i assume?

Great theme, but just a question. What will determine the winner? How both things (pic and song) work together or just the image?

Final Entry

Song: Feeder "Buck Rogers" (GT3 Intro Song)
Video here

He's got a brand new car
Looks like a jaguar
It's got leather seats
It's got a CD player

But I don't wanna talk about it anymore

I think we're gonna make it
I think we're gonna save it
So don't you try and fake it
Anymore, anymore

We'll start over again
Grow ourselves new skin
Get a house in Devon
Drink cider from a lemon

But I don't wanna talk about it anymore

I think we're gonna make it
I think we're gonna save it
So don't you try and fake it
Anymore, anymore

I think we're gonna make it
I think we're gonna save it
So don't you try and fake it
Anymore, anymore

He's got a brand new car
He's got a brand new car

I think we're gonna make it
I think we're gonna save it
So don't you try and fake it
Anymore, anymore

I think we're gonna make it
I think we're gonna save it
So don't you try and fake it
Anymore, anymore

Metallica - Fuel

Gimme fuel
Gimme fire
Gimme that which I desire

ohh,shaa

Turn on, I see red
Adrenaline crash and crack my head
Nitro junkie, paint me dead
And I see red

One hundred plus through black and white
War horse
War head
**** em, man
White knuckle tight
Through black and white

Oh, on I burn
Fuel is pumping engines
Burning hard
Loose and clean

Oh, and on I burn
turning my direction
Quench my thirst with gasoline

So gimme fuel
Gimme fire
Gimme that which I desire

Turn on beyond the bone
Swallow future
Spit out home
Burn your face upon the chrome

Take the corner, join the crash
Headlights, headlines
Another junkie lives too fast

Yeah
Lives way too fast, fast, fast, fast, fast

Oh, on I burn
Fuel is pumping engines
Burning hard, loose and clean

Oh, and on I burn
turning my direction
Quench my thirst with gasoline

So gimme fuel
Gimme fire
Gimme that which I desire yeah yeahe!!!!

U-Ah-Yeh-Hey!

white knuckle tight!

Oh
Gimme fuel
Gimme fire
My desire

Oh, on I burn
Fuel is pumping engines
Burning hard, loose and clean

And On I burn
turning my direction
Quench my thirst with gasoline

Gimme fuel
Gimme fire
Gimme that which I desire

On I burn

Why not just use any shot and select Gary Numan - Cars as the song? ;)

But yeah, I'm having trouble finding songs. I just don't want something obvious like "Camaro, Camaro, I love Camaros!" or things like that. Something more ambiguous, like Nicknamealguem's entry 👍

Well that would take all the fun out of the theme.

Metallica - Fuel

I fail to see the "car reference", but I like the ominousness of the shot.
Songs about petroleum products, lol.

How about, the Dead Milkmen - Bitchin' Camaro
only problem is, where in GT4 is there a neigbor to run over.
(Admins I didn't title the song please don't give me another red card) lol

*Ahem*?
pumping engines – engine - car
on I burn - the poet (singer) personifies a car
One hundred plus through black and white – Can be interpreted has an one hundred (plus) horse power car (and I toke in the account the black and white and driven a black and white car, plus the GT4 Black and White filter).
Turn on, I see red – GT4 red filter (I see red). Turn on (my car is turning)
Quench my thirst with gasoline / Gimme fuel – again the poet personifies a car (who else is thirst for gasoline?)
Fuel – Directly linked to cars and race

The video also features some American muscle cars, one of which, the car I used.

______________

Also, to clarify some people. The song doesn’t have to have a specifically mention of the car, like saying the manufacture or specific brand.
And again I recall to the artist OWN interpretation
God, one of the principles of having themes is the interpretation people give to them. Artist OWN interpretation.

There are so many songs with some reference to a moving vehicle or even a sentence that would lead to think about a car, especially in Hard Rock/Power /Trash Metal. People just have to be creative and smart enough to give a valid interpretation to those songs or even join the title of the song with the song in general (because sometimes the title can bring up something about drive or race and the overall lyrics don’t have nothing to do with cars - You just have to give an interpretation of the overall feeling of the race or the drive in general).

Just to name a few:
Manowar – Wheels of fire
Megadeth – Mechanix
Audioslave – Getaway Car
Bloc Party – Price of Gasoline
Deftones - Be Quiet and Drive
Deftones – Passenger
Heart - Barracuda
Nickelback – See you at the show
Offspring – Racing against myself
Rob Zombie – Two-Lane Blacktop
System of a Down – Stealing Society
And the well known (and as Moglet said) the song “Cars” from Gary Numan

AND...If you google for "songs about cars", you will see plenty of pages like this one, with a top 10 songs about cars and whatnot.

I’ve done all the homework for you, now bring those entries.

(Thank you)

Edit: Codename, that’s the spirit. Some of the songs I listed are a bit “ambiguous” and are up to the person own interpretation, so, if you would like, give them a try.

James is hardly a poet, but I see where your going, I was interpreting "Car reference" to actually referencing a specific car, but I really was just trying to be humorous (there is that dry humor not coming across well in text form again).

Also I think the 100+ through black and white refers to , 100+ MPH over blacktop with white lines, that how I interpret it anyway.

BTW- Check out Avril Lavigne's excellent cover of that tune.

And don't forget Anthrax - Fueled, White Zombie - Black Sunshine, and Hey Little Cobra by (I think) The Rip Chords.

Yeah sure thing. Every person has they’re own interpretation of it. I just revealed mine.

Actually that's probably a good thing, so the voters can understand your view.

Oh and Barracuda refers to the animal not the car, though I love the car!

Guys, if your shot requires interpretation you may want to share it, for those who will be voting.

At least its fast...no??

Fast Car - Tracy Chapman

You got a fast car
I want a ticket to anywhere
Maybe we make a deal
Maybe together we can get somewhere

Anyplace is better
Starting from zero got nothing to lose
Maybe we’ll make something
But me myself I got nothing to prove

You got a fast car
And I got a plan to get us out of here
I been working at the convenience store
Managed to save just a little bit of money
We won’t have to drive too far
Just ’cross the border and into the city
You and I can both get jobs
And finally see what it means to be living

You see my old man’s got a problem
He live with the bottle that’s the way it is
He says his body’s too old for working
I say his body’s too young to look like his
My mama went off and left him
She wanted more from life than he could give
I said somebody’s got to take care of him
So I quit school and that’s what I did

You got a fast car
But is it fast enough so we can fly away
We gotta make a decision
We leave tonight or live and die this way

I remember we were driving driving in your car
The speed so fast I felt like I was drunk
City lights lay out before us
And your arm felt nice wrapped ’round my shoulder
And I had a feeling that I belonged
And I had a feeling I could be someone, be someone, be someone

You got a fast car
And we go cruising to entertain ourselves
You still ain’t got a job
And I work in a market as a checkout girl
I know things will get better
You’ll find work and I’ll get promoted
We’ll move out of the shelter
Buy a big house and live in the suburbs
You got a fast car
And I got a job that pays all our bills
You stay out drinking late at the bar
See more of your friends than you do of your kids
I’d always hoped for better
Thought maybe together you and me would find it
I got no plans I ain’t going nowhere
So take your fast car and keep on driving

You got a fast car
But is it fast enough so you can fly away
You gotta make a decision
You leave tonight or live and die this way

Jan & Dean - Dead Man's Curve
I was cruisin' in my Stingray late one night
When an XKE pulled up on the right
He rolled down the window of his shiny new Jag
And challenged me then and there to a drag
I said, "you're on, buddy, my mill's runnin' fine
Let's come off the line, now, at Sunset and Vine
But I'll go you one better if you've got the nerve
Let's race all the way
To Dead Man's Curve"

[Chorus:]
Dead Man's Curve, it's no place to play
Dead Man's Curve, you must keep away
Dead Man's Curve, I can hear 'em say:
"Won't come back from Dead Man's Curve"

The street was deserted late Friday night
We were buggin' each other while we sat out the light
We both popped the clutch when the light turned green
You shoulda heard the whine from my screamin' machine
I flew past LaBrea, Schwab's, and Crescent Heights
And all the Jag could see were my six taillights
He passed me at Doheny then I started to swerve
But I pulled her out and there we were
At Dead Man's Curve

[Partial chorus:]

Dead Man's Curve, it's no place to play
Dead Man's Curve

Dramatic interlude:

Well - the last thing I remember, Doc, I started to swerve
And then I saw the Jag slide into the curve
I know I'll never forget that horrible sight
I guess I found out for myself that everyone was right

"Won't come back from Dead Man's Curve"
[repeat chorus to fade]

And I see it as the checkers at the finish line :)

Little red corvette - prince
little deuce coupe - beach boys
Its a Cadillac - Three bad jacks
American Pie - Don McLeon
Cars - Fear Factory ( A meaner cover if you dont want that nerdy feel)

Think about some of your fav driving songs. Cars are mentioned so often.

Cool idea Grump...that works

Nice, didn't think of that one...

You know how many times I had to start a 'Family Cup' race before I got a E-type opponent for my Stingray ???

More ideas....
Butthole Surfers - Ulcer Breakout
" ...Ever felt the toque of a Hemi, ever go so fast you could die..."

I wanted to use, Jamiroquai - Black Devil Car. Unfortunately there is no Enzo in GT4, which is what he wrote the song about.

Alan Jackson (i think) - Mercury Blues

I could keep going on and on, my brain is filled with song lyrics...
