Amazingly we still see some Commodore V8 SS interceptors around here.
Maybe the cops are just keeping them past 200,000km.
We only see three types of interceptors.
The Kia Stinger which I do like but its a mere 3.3 v6 turbo that sounds like nothing. And Stingers tend to be quite common in private hands.
This car however is amazing.
You have to hear it to believe it.
6.4 v8 pushrod as god intended, dead on 475hp and absolutely dire fuel economy. They are $65k new here and I dont know if they are even for sale given most people wont gravitate towards yankee rocket sleds.
I see lots of these around and to me they look like 'sensible performance'.
Here's a 1,750kg car that is decently quick that is effectively the size of a 1995 BMW 7 but gets 7/100 around town.
To give you an example my old V8 Commodore got that on the hwy!
The BMW 530d is actually quite commonly on sale for around aud$40-$45,000... all white all 2018 or so but they usually have 100,000 miles on them.
So who wants to spend what is an avg. yearly wage on a BMW with that many km???
Granted this car is around $120,000 new.
Would you like an ex police diesel interceptor???
Here's a vid of typical use:
