No, they have had 14 years to improve the AI in GT and it's still no better than it was in GT1.

If PD would optimize gt5 to run on 2 ps3 (only one monitor needed), to achieve better graphics, better AI, much more cars on the track (say at least 35-40), better damage modelling, etc, etc, etc, would you buy a second ps3 to be able to experience these improvements? !!!

Only if I could have 35-40 cars on Autumn Mini

I vote No..

Simply Because, Most of us are NOT walking banks and cannot afford to buy 2+ PS3's to run a single game, I would much prefer if they did all this using ONE PS3 and utilize the CPU and GPU Chips of the console efficiently.

Also, imagine if one ( or even both ) PS3's suddenly die from ylod, what will you do then? buy another 2 PS3's to continue having a super high resolution and smoother FPS?

I'm sure Sony would love you.

Simple answer - No.

PS dies, I'll buy a new one. That dies too, I'll buy a desktop.
No way would I do it for a game that Bob spends playing more than I do!

Not a chance, would only even consider this if it affected the physics that are in play while I'm trying to set a fast lap (don't mind the collision physics being off since the goal in racing is for that NOT to come into play).

I already have two, well one is in need of resurrecting from YLOD but that's not too difficult when I can be bothered to do it.

Besides I don't think it will work anyway.

Ok, based on the pole about 30% will be able to experience this feature... so lets hope PD will issue this feature somewhere in the near future.

No I wouldn't, I don't have £150+ to spend on another PS3 for one game. It wouldn't improve much apart from graphics anyway, the AI would still be dreadful, two PS3's wouldn't suddenly make them super-intelligent.

Only if I could use a used PS3 with a tiny hard drive. I wouldn't purchase another 250GB or whatever the two highest sizes are now.

I don't have money to throw away so no i wouldnt. But to those people who say "No i wont pay money for things that should be included in the game" - If it was that simple, then those features such as extra cars on screen would be in the game. The PS3 is not powerful to pull it off on its own, the limitations of consoles are a massive burden on game design.

Graphics development for the last few years has slowed down massively, due to the trend of games being developed for consoles that might have previously been developed exclusively for PC, they have to hold back a LOT to make the games run on consoles. Though with that, the need for new PC hardware has also slowed down a lot.

Its well known that PS3's run really well in clusters, and people have had great results, even building supercomputers out of clusters of PS3's (When the PS3 was new it was sold at a loss, the hardware was very good for the price at that time. With that in mind its not so hard to imagine they could do it with the PS3 for gaming, but i very much doubt they would.

If this were possible, hell no. I'm not buying another not cheap console and game purely to make one game better to play.

I wouldn't buy an additional PS3 for GT5. Most of what has been listed would work with a single PS3 (more tracks and cars, would need just more hard disk space) or is an design issue (damage modelling and AI).
Improving the graphics and cars on track wouldn't be worth it for me. Plus, as we all know, the actual gain in performance (compared to the investment necessary) is rather slim when clustering stuff up vs. buying a new system.

A PS4 that's capable of 'upscaling' GT5? Why, yes, I'd buy that. An additional PS3? Hell no!

But I'd buy additonal RAM for my PS3 if it helps :D

Already have two PS3's.

I'd buy another 2 or 3 if i thought it would make this or any other game run/look better!

Gonna buy an Xbox come September, that's going to really help things too.

No need for me. GT5 will not kill my PS3 cause im done. Time to move onto Black ops. Ive played this game non stop for about 2 months, now there are so many updates and weird changes. Im done. I played it for 2-3 months non stop. Im not mad to retire and start a new venture. Therefore, buying another ps3 wont happen, cause mine aint gonna die.

I could do this. But I still wouldn't. There is a very large list of possible improvements that only require 1 PS3.

There is no way in hell that I'm going to buy more then one PS3 to play one game... I'll keep the GT5 we have right now as long as it's running on one PS3...

Is everyone on drugs or something? Boycott the game for a week, another ps3 to run the game etc...

How about, and this may be a slightly radical idea but just play the game.

Running a multi-monitor GT5 setup is the only reason I would consider buying multiple PS3's.

The scenario the OP is proposing basically translates to GT6 running on a PS4.
Truth

multi-monitor setup is very costly, you need at least 3 ps3s and 3 monitors (monitors itself cost more than ps3s), its like 3 times more expensive (at least) than running gt5 on 2 ps3s. And multi monitor GT5 doesn't bring anything new to the gt5 but make it look wider, so... what I suggest is you still have one monitor but you have 2 ps3 working together to produce something that 1 ps3 cannot achieve like 30 cars on track, very smart AI, better graphics, insane car damage etc etc etc.

Another example of people passing off opinions as facts at these forums. If you REALLY think "that's all it do is make it look wider" then you need to research it more. It brings alot more to the table that putting 2 PS3s together for one screen.

Lol, everybodies thinking of getting a NEW PS3, wht bother when a second hand PS3 does perfectly fine? Remember, hardware doesn't wear and tear... It breaks.

Ok dude, tell us what multi monitor setup "brings alot more to the table"? What is it? Bill for 2 additional monitors? or bill for electricity? lol. Or maybe crazy FOV that make GT5 look like crap, but wait you can now see cars overtaking you miles away lol. IMHO when setup used correctly it widens the gamefield without distortion - thats it - which is great of course adding some sense of immersion and speed and if you like it do it, I personally dont care, but there are quite more people who cannot afford it or just dont see it reasonable to invest but they still want to have some improvements - for them 2ps3 optimization is the way to go, its not mandatory just a cool option to have, ps3s are getting cheaper.

Maybe even PD SHOULD make gt6 for 2ps3s specifically say in 1.5 years. I guess its better then waiting for expensive ps4 to appear, than waiting for development teams to learn new system, developing, optimizing, waiting for sony to move right number of consoles and only afterthat letting game on the market, this way we can wait for gt6 next 6 years, or maybe 10 who knows.
