I never was a big fan of M.J. ,but I have to admit that the man did have talent.I'm not sure if it's HOF talent, but it's good. I'll give him that.

He was better when he was in the Jackson 5. But, now he kind of lost it. Not just his talent.

Yes, we all certainly know that in the decades preceding his death, he had become a bit of a freak. But you can't deny that the man did have immense talent that would definitely make him worthy of the Hall of Fame. For sure he is one of the most innovative and iconic figures in music history.

Lol one person in the Led Zeppelin thread votes meh and everyone gets all butthurt but 3 people tell MJ to take up a new profession.

EDIT: I'm not the biggest MJ (or zeppelin) fan, but both deserve the HOF.

I agree ^^

, This even needs a vote?

If Michael Jackson isnt HOF then I dont know who is...

I seriously want to hear from the three people who chose New Profession.

I just could never stand his voice, probably doesn't help that every semi-decent song(which is like 2) he's had has been overplayed to the death.

I like how since he has died everyone has forgotten that he was a child molester and a drug addict. Gets a "meh"

I don't believe that. I can't prove it but something tells me he really was a big kid and not a child molester. Don't you think the families of the "molested" children all suddenly settled down after they were given fat dollars. Because thats what they wanted, not justice.

And I hate how people try to make people's professional life look bad with crap they do in their personal life.

I dislike his music because I don't like it, the fact he may have been a child molester just makes me not like him as a person, it has no bearing on how I feel about his music.

Also, what famous musician isn't a drug addict?

Wrong. People's personal lives definately affect the love for their craft. Charles Manson was a musician and people would look at you like you were a freak if you were a Charles Manson super fan. For obvious reasons. And also, I've heard the "Big Kid" defense more than I care to. It's written on the wall. Why would a grown man hang out with all those kids? The "Big Kid" argument is worn out, because, quite frankly it's the most ridiculous thing in the world. Sounds like a crackpot defense attourney's last ditch effort to cover stuff up. And also, pertaining to his music. He spawned modern pop music which has spawned some of the most terrible acts known to man..If you were going to go on who's legacy inspired more GOOD music, go for older country artists, people in the 70's rock scene, the early metal scene, and the Ramones.

Most people don't even realize Manson was a musician so that's not really a good argument.

I'll use probably the most famous case of OJ Simpson, even though he has a rep as a murderer he still is considered one of the best NFL running backs in history.

But look how his life has gone after the fact? Do you really think people buy much O.J. Memorabillia.

Check this out.

If you had a, lets say butcher down the street. He always served you meat, and you enjoyed the meat. Everything's all good, nothing seems wrong... Until you discover that the butcher was a child molester and the funds going through his shop was aiding him in molesting more children. You'd stop giving him money wouldn't you? Same thing, Micheal Jackson used all his money to build what is essentially a child molestation super-center. There is something evil about that, and it doesn't help me in liking his music. Even if I ever liked it, I wouldn't be able to listen to his music again knowing that is was aiding him to continue this lifestyle. Also, all of his music was just manufactured pop music lacking any sort of substance, all for the love of money and molesting children. That totally ruins the music and reputation for me. If other people can look past that stuff, good for them. I just think that an artist with such notoriety (to the point that people see him as a role model) should have a decent lifestyle.

Nope, than again once an athlete retires his memorabilia goes down considerably unless it's something special like game-worn or from their rookie season.

Are you really comparing a butcher to MJ?

Butcher: Not a unique talent, doesn't make or do anything someone else can't.

MJ & OJ: Have done/made things nobody else can in the same way they did.

Also, I never thought I would be arguing for MJ.

You bet your bottom dollar I would stop buying from that butcher!

But that didn't change the fact that he butched some damn good meat!;)
