Won't be joining you guys for tonight's event as I wanted. Will be fully ready (and less busy by the next event).

I should be able to confirm for round 2.

That first race was a little frustrating. No speed in qualifying, then got tapped in T1 and lost probably 3-4 spots. Spent the rest of the race chasing Fudman and unable to pass due to a severe lack of speed on the long straightaway. Car had speed in the corners, I purpled the first sector several times in both races, but even if I was on someone's bumper coming onto the straight, I would lose ~10 car lengths even with the slipstream. Only made up spots because others made mistakes.

Second race went better as I was able to get past a few on the first lap and thankfully everyone had spread out enough that I didn't immediately get swamped on the straight. When the caution was called I thought I was done for. Somehow held on to 2nd place and then took the lead when Wetroadracer made a mistake in the last corner. Gave it everything it had to try and stay up front but ultimately lost the lead.

Now to try and figure out how to squeak some straightaway speed out of it without crossing 640pp...

My apologies to kgffty, tee, and dub for race 2, lap 4. I'm watching the replay now and I cost all three of you positions with my mistake. Mostly you kggfty, I wouldve gave you my position in the caution had I realized it was you I took out. I thought I could make a pass on Nova and missed my braking point entirely.

Yeah your car was quite a bit quicker through the chicanes than mine but I would just walk away on the straights on you. And I took my attention away from the race for about a second and bam spinning through the grass…

White Knuckle Motorsports had a team meeting this morning to debrief the action from last night.

The trucks are all loaded up and we're headed back north towards our own areas of Canada and looking forward to getting back together in December at Watkins Glen.

A huge thanks to @llNovall for investing his time and effort into a series that we all enjoy.

If any of you are looking for some good, CLEAN, and competitive action as we wait until the next MPC event on December 13th, have a look at the Snail Sunday Night Spec League on this forum.

Thanks,

Post Race Report and Scoring
Event #1 at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta

Road Atlanta for our opener delivered. The racing was close and intense. Qualifying and fast laps were very close across the field, especailly for the opening race event, and are only expected to get closer. I had some amazing battles with @DublDee , @Buffalo_DRD , and @JDMKING13 across both races. Too much to highlight, but take a look at the replays...certainly worth the watches.
Race broadcasts will eventually be available for viewing, but for now you can view the actual in-game replays through the search tag: snailmpc. Feel free to elaborate on any battle/exchanges you may have shared.
Despite a few early season incidents, overall it was a great night of racing.

Minimal lag/jittering was present across the field, but was overall manageable.

Now for Scoring:
Congratulations to GTP_WorstDriver / @Worst_Driver on the Overall Win on the night. Great lap consistency and attack for a 3rd place in R1 and a win for R2. Great work!!

Also, Congratulations to our Top 3 Overall:
1st: GTP_WorstDriver / @Worst_Driver
2nd: JDMKing13 / @JDMKING13
3rd: mac1032763 / @Mac1032763

Awards:
GTP_WorstDriver / @Worst_Driver , please apply the checkered flag decal linked below in recognition of your Race 2 win, and also apply a "white" track map decal of Road Atlanta to your driver side quarter window in recognition of your overall Event #1 win.
JDMKing13 / @JDMKING13 , please apply the checkered flag decal linked below in recognition of your Race 1 win to your driver side quarter window. >>>> Awards Link for Details and Decals
Series main Spotters Guide and Driver Profile page has been updated in order of driver standings with award tags and overall podium placemnet acknowledgements.>>>Driver Profile Page and Spotter's Guide

For any drivers that care to participate in displaying their Driver Standing for next event, please see the spoiler tab below for details. Please verify your current driver standing on the scoresheet provided, or by the driver profile page linked in this post. Please be sure to update your livery prior to each event. If in doubt, simply remove the numbers before the event. See the Spoiler tab below:
Driver Standings Recognition
Drivers will be encouraged, not required, to display their current driver standing going into each event after Event #1, though there will be a few rules and requirements.
Drivers who are interested in diplaying their current standing, should collect the following green digital numbers 0-9.
19298d4c15a5-screenshotUrl.jpg

After scoring is finalized and Post Race report issued, drivers will be cleared to edit their driver standing on their number board along with any award tags. Drivers should apply their Standing on both side's boards and be sure their number is in line with their actual standing in the Championship.
Should look like this:
19298d4a4df4-screenshotUrl.jpg

Rules and requirements:
To maintain accuracy and integrity to this recognition, drivers who choose to add their standing to their car will be required to submit an updated profile picture before each event with their scrutineering tuning sheet. Submissions will be reviewed post event just as I do for the driver regulations.
If a driver forgets to submit the car picture with a standing displayed or has the wrong standing placement displayed , it will result in a 5 point penalty against the overall event score. This has to be in place to ensure that those who want to display their standing, maintains the attention and accuracy for it to be credible.
If choosing to display, be sure your edited livery is correct, accurate, and saved prior to each event. If unsure or not interested in displaying your standing, simply leave it blank or just apply double zeros.
The profile pictures will not be used for the Driver profile page, only for scrutineering to maintain the integrity of this recognition.
Again, this is optional, but if done correctly, it will be a great way to know who is where in the standings as the season unfolds.

EVENT #1 / RACE #1 RECAP

Season Opener - Event #1 - Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta
Friday, November 15th, 2024

Preamble:

Ever since the closeout of the 2023 Porsche Cup Challenge - Presented by Snail / Hosted by @llNovall , I've been awaiting the start of the next series. A few months ago, we were teased with the idea of a series featuring American V8 Supercars, but that was cancelled. Then the idea of this series came up with a planned September start date only to be postponed until mid-November. In the meantime, I got my racing fix on Snail's Sunday Night Spec League. (I will continue to shamelessly plug this until most of you have signed up)

But the kick-off event of this series last Friday was worth the wait. Racing with this group continues to be a ton of fun.

Qualifying:
I do not have the video of the Qualifying session but the results are below:

SHARE_20241119_0438530.jpeg

@JDMKING13 would claim pole position with a qualifying lap of 1:23.606.

I spent quite a bit of time in practice lobbies with most drivers in the 2 weeks leading up to the event and had a feeling that the McLaren's would fare well. If T7 can be taken correctly, the McLaren's got a ton of speed on the long straight. I wasn't surprised to see @JDMKING13 on pole and also thought that @Mac1032763 's setup gave him a real good look at it too.

There was 0.5 seconds separating the top 7 qualifying times which shows that the grid setup is pretty close.

Event #1 / Race #1:
Finally, the season is underway. To me, the combination of different cars and everybody's liveries made for a really good looking grid.
SHARE_20241118_0926160.jpeg

Lap 1:
A few position changes have already occurred through the first few turns but it looks like everybody survived. It's already evident that @JDMKING13 intends to make the most out of his pole position.
SHARE_20241118_0926570.jpeg

LAP 3:
As the Sunday Spec League drivers will tell you, knocking off a cones, spinning or creating clouds of smoke or dirt is a good way to get featured in my posts. (although I tend to avoid highlighting situations that result in Incident Reviews) @Wetroadracer , running in 2nd place at the time went a little too deep in T1 of Lap 3. He caught his car and used the run-off to get himself back onto the track. But his dirty tires made him vulnerable for half a lap and would eventually drop from 2nd to 12th spot before he shook off the error.
SHARE_20241118_0927260.jpeg

Lap 4:
The grid is still tight and cars are in bunches. Battling for @llNovall 's 8th position is @DublDee , @Fudman420 , @Kgffy and @Wetroadracer and @CodeRedR51 not far behind. @llNovall and @DublDee would spend much of this race together.
SHARE_20241118_0927500.jpeg

Lap 4:
With @JDMKING13 creating space for himself at the front, and @Mac1032763 also running a tad deep at T1, I was able to move into 2nd place and @Worst_Driver into 3rd. @Mac1032763 , @Bologna_Duc , @socalnatv and @Noob01_lmdead continued to apply pressure.
SHARE_20241118_0928100.jpeg

Lap 7:
@Mac1032763 's McLaren managed to overtake @Worst_Driver 's Aston Martin in lap 7 but the front of the pack is still very tight.
SHARE_20241118_0928330.jpeg

Lap 8:
A little separation is occurring in the middle of the grid but @DublDee and @Fudman420 still have eyes on @llNovall 's 8th position.
SHARE_20241118_0928560.jpeg

Lap 11:
By lap 11, @Fudman420 fell off a little but @llNovall and @DublDee managed to close the gap with the group in front of them consisting of @socalnatv , @Bologna_Duc and @Noob01_lmdead .
SHARE_20241118_0929340.jpeg

Lap 12
My critical error of the race was coming out of T7 on lap 12. Tire wear might have played a small role but a good exit out of T7 onto the long straight was the spot where my car excelled. I got on the throttle too quickly on this occasion and dropped from 2nd to 9th.
SHARE_20241118_0929580.jpeg

Lap 16:
@llNovall and @DublDee are still doing battle in lap 16. I eventually pulled myself together and managed to join them. @Noob01_lmdead and his Mustang led our foursome for awhile.
SHARE_20241118_0930180.jpeg

Lap 17:
Our order would change slightly but as shown below, our foursome is still intact, and while it might be difficult to frame @Fudman420 and @CodeRedR51 in the same pic, they never went away, you can see them nearing the end of the straight, just a few seconds behind.
SHARE_20241118_0930370.jpeg

Lap 21:
The two Corvettes of @Bologna_Duc and @socalnatv going head-to-head on the long straight on Lap 21. These two looked like they had a decent amount of fun.
SHARE_20241120_0112030.jpeg

Lap 22:
On the 22nd and final lap, @socalnatv 's Corvette, running in 4th, fell victim to T7 and spun. Reply shows he might have nudge his wheel a tad too much to the right to avoid contact with @Bologna_Duc 's rear panel. Having made the same error at the same spot 10 laps earlier, I know how hard it is to watch car after car zip by you as you await a break in the action to safely get back on track.
SHARE_20241118_0930570.jpeg

Lap 22:
@JDMKING13 and his McLaren proved to be too much in Race #1. He drove an error free race and made the most of his pole position by going wire to wire to claim the season's first checkered flag. He edged out @Mac1032763 (who would register the race's FL at 1:23.409) by 2.5 seconds. @Worst_Driver would take the final spot on the podium.
