Yes i know it's been done before. But i saw a write-up from one of the mods and noticed that he hadn't won the Seattle race. Naturally i had to try it for myself to see if i could win every race.

The results may surprise you... ...if you get surprised by anything and everything that is.

Weapon of choice
> Tommy Kaira ZZ-S
> Roughly 200 hp
> Silver
> White, 8? spoked wheels (similar to a Integra Type R's)
> Practicly a brand new car (bought just for the series)

Challenge me if you dare!
> Ford Mustang SVT Cobra R
> Honda NSX Type S Zero
> Mazda RX7 Type RS
> Mitsubishi Lancer EVO VII GSR
> Toyota Supra RZ

The Battle...

>race one/ten<
Trial Mountain II

"Well here we are at the first race of the season. Quite a tough looking grid if i say so myself. (which, i might add, was what i just did) Better qualify so i can decide on the rubber i'll be using. T3, Hard Slicks, look like the way to go - long lasting and more grip than T2's. Since i'm such a lazy bugger i'll just use T3's for every race." (but was that a wise choice?) Of course it was. Don't ask silly questions.

Midfield Raceway II

"A one stop pit strategy (which, as it turns out, i'll end up applying for every race in this championship) got me the race win at 'The Mountain'." Found it quite easy to be honest. 'Will the whole championship be like that' you ask. Who knows."I do, but i'm not telling you.

Rome Circuit II

"I qualified second at Midfield because i was in a generous mood that day so decided i'd let the NSX take pole. If you believe that then you are very gullible. Excuse my spelling - it's a test to see how many words you find misspelt. Prizes awarded at random." ('is he ever going to talk about the race?' you ask.) Don't get your hopes up buddy.

Special Stage Route 5 II

"If the half-blind guy driving the Mustang even bothered to use his brakes then i would have been in second place after the first corner in Rome. But no. He thinks i need to see what's on the other side of the wall at the end of the front straight. Regardless, i did look and there was nothing special.
So i reversed, straightened my tie (well where does it say you can't wear a suit while racing?) then proceeded to lay rubber and carry on racing." ('a suit?' Don't go there okay.) Nosey parker. Sheeesh!

>race five/ten<
Seattle II

"After setting my fastest lap on lap five of the Special Stage 20 lapper, i got a bit bored so i went hunting for slow cars. To my astonishment i found six slower cars - one of which looked similar to the one i had lapped earlier... What could this mean?" (remember the six car-only, race rule everyone!) I said remember! Hurry up, i haven't got all day!! Ah forget it. I have better things to do. Like eating.

Enough trying to confuse you - back to the championship!

>race six/ten<
Apricot Hill II

"Maybe it was due to different opponents? Could be because they may have used different strategies? Were they racing with one eye open, the other closed? To make it more of a challenge? I didn't find Seattle much of a challenge at all.
Before you ask, (yes - i could tell) no i do not wall ride or use the AI cars to help me corner. I like to be as clean as possible (looks good in the replays) and have a tendency to slow down for a few seconds as punishment if i hit a wall or use an AI car to corner. I don't like cheaters as much as the next guy" (apart from that guy on your left - he loves cheaters) Eat's them for breakfast as a matter of fact. Sick freak.

>race seven/ten<
Deep Forest II

"Why do i always get such bad take-offs? It could be because i have TCS and ASM on 0. And it's blatantly obvious that first gear is meant for doing burnouts and ruining your engine due to its super short ratio. But are second gear starts the answer? I'll be honest with you - please try not to be alarmed. Yes." (surprise, surprise!) Well how else am i to get off the line? Reverse? Don't answer that...

Special Stage Route 11 II

"I'm a nice guy, i'll admit that. So naturally, to show my niceness, when a busload of tourists, who were visiting the infamous gorge in the township of Deep Forest, asked me if there would be any racing around the racetrack today - i said no. (because they wanted a quiet day out)
About an hour later i raced past at full speed in my car, along with five other mean buggers who were trying to ruin the day for those nice tourist people!" (i lied. So sue me!) To all Americans reading this - do not take that last comment seriously. o_O

>race nine/ten<
Grand Valley Speedway II

"The problem with SSR11 is that to get fast lap times you have to push. Which means taking risks. I'm not normally a risk taker. So how on earth could i not beat the 2:09.626 second lap time i did on lap seven of twenty?? As far as i recall, i was trying to do so for most of the rest of the race - risk taking included! But oh well. This is a great track if you like taking risks." (good when you're good, bad when you're bad!) And when you're really bad then the track gets worse just to make you more worser! >race ten/ten<
Tokyo Route 246 II

"When you're bored, you drift. Huh? Oh. Well i thought that's what you do when you're bored? Why did i try to do it at Grand Valley then? Hey! Cut that out and act your age!
You know something? I would have had a lot more power if the Mustang driver (who has something against me for reasons i shall not disclose - PM me if you want to know) hadn't forced me into the first tunnels' front wall - where i came to an abrupt stop. (of all things)
'Wait a minute' you say. 'I thought the engine was in the back of the car?' Well done Einstien - but if you had let me finish then i would have told you about the RX7 driver who gave me a (unexpected) 'helping hand'." (leave me time to change to second before you help me to accelerate to 80 km/h in one second!) Though i shan't complain as it made the race more exciting driving a car half as short than it was in the beginning of the race.

Say your thanks and get out
> I didn't come into this series thinking i'd win every race. Especially by using T3's and a one stop pit strategy for every single race and only 2-3 qualifying laps at the most.
> I must also congratulate Mr. Frank for his best achievement to date while driving his Black Mitsubishi Lancer. I'm sure he and his team must be very proud of his whopping ten points. I wish him all the luck in finding a new job.
> This is the about the fourth or fifth time i've run this series and i think it was one of the best runs.
> My sincerest apoligies, but i must regret that all the prizes have been given away, so you should have got in earlier!

Until next time...
Later alligator.

MM, I suffer at this race, no matter what car and track. I appreciate the assist in showing that it is my malfunction at tunning this track.

I wonder if this might have helped me. I may have to run it again with different tires and see what comes up. Also

Ahhh....Bugger it really is me.

My results from that race:
Skyline R34: 36'42.706
Impreza 22B-STI: + 18.906
Me: + 21.609
Supra RZ: + 23.045
Elise 190: + 1'01.635
Skyline R32: + 1'49.700

Total Time: 37'04.315
Best Lap: 1'47.014 (incidentally, my last lap.)
Average lap: 1' 51.216

My fast lap is a tad bit slower than yours, which might come from my tire choice, and my ability on this track. I'm certain I've left scad of 1/10ths and 1/4 everywhere which means yo uare properly faster at this track than I. Even with the difference in AI opponents, you would have won against the R34 in my run. I'll have to test out those T3 tires.

Excellent run!

As a further note, you may want to check my compendium for my "Strait out of the box" series. I've been weeding the car choices down to see which ones make for an enjoyable run in the PD cup. The catch is, I'm running the cars "as is" right from the dealer.

Till later,

AO

Hmm, it surprized me somewhat when i saw other peoples writeups and times for this race.
I read your's and neon_duke's, and as far as i know, neither of you got faster lap times than me at any of the tracks and he only got one faster total time than me at Tokyo. (mind you that was after he had changed oil etc and re-entered the race)

So i started thinking that either i'm better at the game than i thought - or you two had gone easy and not been driving at 100%.

I'm still not really sure. Maybe i was just having good luck in those three days i did the series? I did get a 4:19.xxx lap time at Complex String with a green 400 hp ZZ-S (black wheels mate!) but i think that can be beaten by anyone here.
Because the car is quite slippery (not really tuned for racing) and i made a few small mistakes which would have cost me time.

I'm not sure whether i will enter in any OLR's because i still don't think i'm *that* good.

Ah well. I'll have to find some other challenge now i've succesfully completed this. :)

Give it a shot! Run the qualifier for the weekly series and send your time to Boom. He'll rank it with the others and PM you the results so you can see where you stand.

AO and I are the first to admit we're not that fast, but we're both decent drivers with a solid understanding of how to get the car around the track. So I'd say you've got nothing to lose by entering a few weekly comps. OLR and the chance to discuss technique with faster drivers certainly improved my game.

Nice write-up MM!;) Next time, try and get the game to draw a Nissan 350Z. *goes way faster than every other AI opponent:P *

And it's blatantly obvious that first gear is meant for doing burnouts and ruining your engine due to its super short ratio.

I really liked this part

At the end of every few rows there is some hidden text which you can only see by selecting it.... :D
