McLaren,

Go back and read his original quote. He said "each one is at the top or very near the top of its class." It is true that a base 997 competes with a different class of car than a GT3, or a Turbo or a GT2.

He never said they were to be considered individual sports cars or models.
Yes, he did.
N addition to producing more critically aclaimed sports cars than any other manufacturer (the Boxster, Caymen, 997, GT3/RS, Turbo, GT2 are all recognised as best in class or right near the very top),

He added on to his examples afterwards.

It's beside the fact, anyways. Porsche do not produce more than anyone else.

Aye, its not just the 911s either. The Caymen is just a refined hardtop Boxster. Same chassis, body shape and everything.

I reckon Codies will get Porsche, for Grid 2.How that licence stops PD, from getting Porsche onboard i'll probably never know.

If it follows the same licensing as GRID (sorry if this been mentioned) where there is a Porsche GT3RSR (and that's it) but you're only allowed to race either at Le Mans or on the few tracks in the Le Mans series races. You're also only allowed to use the few preset liveries ie. not your own. It's obvious the CM's license is bought from whoever owns the Le Mans series licensing not from Porsche or EA.

Would've been nice to drive the road going Porsches, however just me i don't mind driving the Le Mans Porsches.Hopefully including Porsches with other Le Mans race cars, there could be full grids.

Will Porsches be in GT5? No

However, one of the mods has said that this thread will stay open to reduce the amount of redundent threads. Of course, it would probably make sense to change the name to "Will Porsches be in GT6?"

Finally! I've been wondering this for a while, and this actually makes sense! Now I can continue with my life. :)

BUMP~> Another hope for Porsche in GT5?

-> According to the News Thread; in the newly released 918 concept car, there was a GTPSP screen on that car. Shocking in my book...

-> Would this be a clue on why GT5 takes so long to release?

That is interesting, although I have to wonder how much of that is photoshop.

^ Its almost impossible that it was 'chopped, because it came directly from the source, Porsche. :scared:

And do you believe companies do not use Photoshop on their press release photos?, ive seen a lot of them being chopped, even to the point of the complete vehicle

By the way, im not trying to sound rude, but thats the way it is, companies use it, A LOT.:)

Really? Thats interesting because I swear that looks like a GT PSP/FM3 photoshop combination. I might be wrong, but I swear I've seen the Nurburgring picture from either the FM3 forum or somewhere. And chepu is right, big companies do photoshop things just to entice people. Fashion Magazines and food companies do it all the time, I'm willing to bet car companies have done the same.

The simple answer to the topic title is: No one knows just yet.

If you think Porsche is in, you're a fool. You know too little. Infer less and wait more.

If you think Porsche out, you're a fool. You know too little. Infer less and wait more.

*puts on shades and leaves thread*

Cosidering Kaz said Porsche wont be in GT5 I wouldn't think anyone is a fool for for thinking that way...

Porsche is the best car company in my opinion. I would play Gt5 day and night if they made it in.

Yet, there's a Gemballa Evo, or a Ruf as your avatar. :dopey:

Disclaimer: I could be wrong, but that's definitely no factory Porsche.

I agree, considering how absolute his respose was when asked directly about Porsche. But then it's Kaz.. super notorious for accidentally telling lies. Here's hoping the post "no-porsche" delay renders Kaz a liar 👍

And if you're in between, you're safe! :P

So, just wait and see?

Yes, as with everything else GT5. :ouch:

Now, I am no defender of Porsche, but I do defend logic. You cannot hold onto a statement said nearly a 1/2 year ago. You cannot trust a man who isn't allowed to divulge information at leisure. For that, we sit back and watch as things unfold.

👍

We can't jump to conclusions, the picture means nothing without confirmation.

^ I'm aware of that, but it can be legally wrong thou. Its ok, you're just proving your point. :)

^ Oh, I'm one of those in between people. As what I said on the other thread, "can't jump for joy just yet...wait for the official statement from either or both parties". :)

Porsche Time Line

-2007 SEMA auto show; Porsche is not in yet. Ferrari is in and Lamborghini is a "maybe".

-May 2008; Porsche hasn't been contacted yet, but Kaz believes they'll have Porsche in Gran Turismo 5 Speaking with the Official PlayStation Magazine, Yamauchi commented, “We’ll have most - no, all of the major manufacturers.”
When pushed to further clarify on the possibility of the Porsche brand appearing in Gran Turismo 5, he simply stated, “probably.”

-October 2008; Kaz has spoken with Porsche and damage is O.K. with them. Negotiations could occur because contracts with other parties had ended. Porsche (that’s right… Porsche) have stated that they do not have a problem with their cars being damaged in the game. From Ahmed: Kaz's response to Lamborghini and Porsche: "the thing is we are working on it , because like the porsche have some contracts with other games manufacturer, and those contracts has just ended so its possible for us now to negotiate."

-August 2009 (GamesCom); Porsche will likely not appear in Gran Turismo 5, signing an exclusive deal elsewhere.

Here's a little timeline for you to catch up on the Porsche saga.

I must be safe as I'm not sure if they're in nor do I care whether they are or not because there will be RUF (Probably anyway) instead. That's good enough for me. But as you all know, there's so much that we do not know about the game, so much that hasn't or probably never will be confirmed prior to the game's release. So I'm just going to wait and see. Bickering about it will do nothing

Sorry, but the 918 isn't running anything but a screenshot of GT PSP's track selection screen with a screenshot of Forza (with an only partially hidden Ferrari). That's a quick and dirty mockup, because there is no electronic system in that car yet. Certainly not an indication as to whether Porsche will be in GT5.
