Possible 'confirmation' of NFS Underground 3?

I couldn't care less if they simply make a remake of MW2012 with premade 'tuner cars'. I loved that game to pieces, even though it wasn't a true sequel to the original.

I'm curious to how they'll supposedly link Shift into it though... interior view? Livery editor? Realistic physics?

Colour me excited. :D

It was Prostreet that was mentioned, which doesn't have interior view but it did have a big livery editor ad realistic physics (apart from your car wrecked as soon as it's on it's roof), for livery editor as long as their is either a marketplace to download designs or some pre-made designs (like Rivals) then I won't use it

I don't think it will be called Underground 3 even if it is a game of that calibre for 2 reasons:

1) EA is weird and probably doesn't understand the value of the Underground name.
2) Carbon was technically Underground 3.

Still, I hope they re-introduce the amazing customisation system we all miss, even if online would be full of cars with phallic images and ponies on them. Oh and this ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

Similar yes, sequel though? No.
Either way, it is still very likely that elements from both Carbon AND Underground will appear in 2015/Underground 3 (not sure what to call it as the title hasn't been officially announced yet.)

I've been listening to the NFS:Most Wanted OST these past few days and its got me thinking that an orchestral soundtrack would be awesome in this new game. NFS:The Run also had a fantastic soundtrack.

The Most Wanted and Carbon compared to the Undergrounds, were another series of games, to which you could arguably also add the Undercover. There are clear similarities between them and especially the story could be considered continuous between them, but the feel and the target changed when they switched from Undergrounds to the Most Wanted, where they added the police and made the free roam basically unplayable, made the game lot less focused in customising, and completely turned the feel of the car list, which to my mind was a mistake.

In the Underground, the car list only included Japanese sports and economy cars and European hatchbacks, to the Underground 2 they added some modern muscle cars and SUVs, but the car list was still mostly the cars that you could imagine in the Underground 1. This was changed in the Most Wanted, where the top cars were cars like Porsche Carrera GT and McLaren SLR, both of which would be completely off in either Undergrounds. In modern day, it's like comparing Porsche 918 and Subaru WRX. And this was even worse in the Carbon, in which if you chose the RX-8 for the first car, you basically played a short and easy version of what'd be the last level in both Undergrounds at the start.

The console/PC versions of Underground, Underground 2, Most Wanted 2005 and Carbon follow the same narrative with the same character in the same universe.

Well I'm not sure if the character in MW/Carbon is the same one in Underground but the universe is the same.

Well, if (!) Most Wanted 2005 and Carbon would have been NFSU sequels like Underground 2, the new game would/could be called Need for Speed: Underground 5. Which is just stupid. No game studio producer-ish guy would say "Oh hey, since that game and that game were like those games but called different, let's call the next one like those games as the first ones." Either they call it Need for Speed: Underground 3 or Need for Speed: Underground.
