Possible Sound Fix?

I would prefer to use the cockpit, but the view isn't right to me. I already have a wheel in my hand, I don't need it on screen. I'd rather have the view "moved" forward a foot or so.

You can move it forward using the quick options in race on the pause menu but you loose most or all of the rear view mirror when you do.

Edit: Never mind I see that you had already responded to something similar to what I just said.

I'm not to crazy about the cockpit view myself either

(cough!)

Tire noise ....l..
Engine Bay .l.....
Cabin sounds ...l...
Air rush ...l...
Exhaust Note ......l
Transmission ...l...
Crash effects ....l..
Environment ...l...
Crowd Noise ....l..

etc...

Just let us adjust these. Yes, some of the samples are not accurate- but this would go a LONG way towards satisfying most players..

I like research's post, but the samples are being squeezed in as it is. Something like that will probably have to wait for GT7 with PS4's bountiful ram.

And because of the skimpy ram available, I'm not holding out a lot of hope for incredible Race Room quality sounds for cars. GT6 is really pushing PS3's Cell architecture as hard as it can. Shadows from trackside objects are worse, and as was pointed out to me earlier in the year, shadows are basically texture maps which require ram. Replays have more instances of drastic framerate drops. Even though the team are using some work in GT6 for PS4, making me think that they originally hoped to make it for PS4, they need more system resources, especially ram.

I know that some people don't like me dragging a certain game from a certain system from the same generation, but they couldn't make sounds work right either. The only car that sounds awesome is the camera focus car, either your car in race or the car you select in replays. The other cars have generic samples which usually aren't even as loud. Some cars have the same sounds from all views.

While PD can do something to better manage the samples in GT6, you won't be hearing wonderful multisamples of the entire powerband range, unless they do something like that other developer did and drastically simplify the samples for the other cars. The next gen is where all the big dream improvements are going to be found.

Have you noticed with the Z4 GT3 and the BMW GT cars @TheLuigi755 that theres this consistent bass rumbling sound? It doesn't get louder with the revs or get quieter, its just this same droning rumble, not the actual vacuum sound but this odd bass sound. Its like running over gravel, its so odd, it feels like I'm driving over the London circuit constantly, its kinda weird to me.

It almost sounds like they recorded the sound from a large distance from the car, with a rubbish microphone, on a very windy day.
