If he was 17 it wouldv'e still been over the age of consent here, thats 16.
Yes yes silly me for typing in the wrong number

Also she didn't molest him or abuse him
As I have mentioned earlier... I never stated that she molested him, I said she abused him. Read my earlier post.
She abused him, she is his mother, it's unacceptable, period!

He's obviously not playing with a full deck of cards. I could not imagine ANY scenario where I would willingly consent to having sex with a parent.

Yes incest is wrong, very wrong but thats not half as bad as 90% of the stuff that goes on out there. I only have to read the Metro to see some proper bad stuff likeabus driver strangeling a gir because she wouldn't sleep with him.
That's irrelevant, we all know that there is worse stuff going on out there, but we are discussing ONE thing here.
@ all
Here's some interesting information culled from avert.org :
1) So what does the age of consent mean?
The age of consent is the age when the law says you can agree to have sex. Before you reach this age, you can't legally have sex with anyone, however old they are. The law says that to be able to have sex, both partners must be over the age of consent.
2) What is the age of consent?
What the age of consent is depends on where you live - there are different age limits in different places, and in some places the age of consent is different for boys and for girls. To find out about the age of consent in your country or state, please see our age of concent chart.
3) What is 'statutory rape'?
If you are under the age of consent and you choose to have sex with someone who is over the age of consent, then they can be charged with the crime of 'statutory rape'. Some countries have different names for this crime, and some states in the US call it 'unlawful sexual penetration' or just 'rape'.
4) And what's sexual abuse?
This is when a person under the age of consent is pressured into any type of sexual contact that they do not agree to. If you know anyone who is being pressurised in this way, you should tell an adult what's going on. Telephone helplines in your country should be able to give you advice and information.
Ok. So all this deals with is people under the age of censent. My opinions stated in this thread I stand by, and I feel that the law [UK] MUST have provision for this supposed "consentual" sexual encounter.
My feelings are still "She Abused Her Son" (Abuse of position, abuse of trust and all that), going by the law she could not be prosecuted under "Sexual Abuse".
In my book she "Raped" her own son. He was under stress having had a panic attack, he obviously wasn't thinking straight, and he was taken advantage of. Whether they both "consented" is dubious and was probably concocted "after the fact" [IMHO].
Ok so now here's the big one which illiminates any doubt whatsoever about the law in the UK. This comes from
HERE and is a very long read, but briefly on page 81
5.1.3
Incest is recognised around the world as a crime. Sexual relations between close family members have long been taboo in most societies. However, incest was not a criminal offence in England and Wales until the Incest Act 1908, now incorporated in sections 10 and 11 of the Sexual Offences Act 1956. There is an additional offence of inciting a girl under the age of 16 to have incestuous intercourse (section 54(1) of the Criminal Law Act 1977). The offence of incest prohibits vaginal sexual intercourse between a man and a woman he knows to be his granddaughter, daughter, sister (including half-sister) or mother. Consent is irrelevant. A woman over the age of sixteen may not permit a man she knows to be her grandfather, father, brother
(including half-brother) or son to have sexual intercourse with her by her consent.
So there you have it... they both broke the law, consent is completely irrelevant...
In that case I change my view...
LOCK THEM BOTH UP!
Case for the prosecution rests mi-lud!
