Another evening of frisbee action in the park. This good boi is a running, jumping and catching beast of a machine.

Not really a pet but this guy was in rough shape about 10 days ago.
A neighborhood cat killed its mother and nearly killed this guy before I shooed the cat out of the yard.
Skittles (squirrels name now) ran up my leg and fell asleep.
I tended to his immediate needs, syringe fed some puppy milk, ground up some almonds and walnuts and let him recover from the ordeal. We have him inside a large enclosure and happy to report he is thriving.
The plan is to soon have him venture outside to learn about being a squirrel. If he wants to come back that’s ok. If he leaves even better.
At least he got a shot at life.

You're a Vet Tech if I remember correctly? Little one probably found the best place to recover at, if so.

Moomoo wears the pants around here.

Looking like a little white lion right here

It's a bit odd, but Moomoo knows how to turn on the water. He'll turn it on, slap it a bit and leave. He learned how to do it by watching me do it every morning. However, Hobbes doesnt know how to do it yet, but he does know how to turn it off. So once Moomoo is done, he'll come and jump up and take a few sips, and then lay his chest over the handle to turn it off. Him doing that has come in handy because before I got Hobbes, I'd come home to the water running for god knows how long.

Update on Skittles.
His wounds have healed, he is eating vigorously, and is active, as you would imagine a squirrel to be.
His favorite foods are fresh dandelions (which I have plenty), raspberries and cherry tomatoes.
As far as nuts go, I think pecans are like crack cocaine to him. Goes freaking nuts (😜) for them. Then peanuts and almonds rank second and third.
Here is the pecan crack head.

I lost him.
Despite all my efforts to save him, he died.
I came home to find him curled up in his blanket stiff and cold.
I feel really sad. I’m going through many different emotions.
I failed him. I shouldn’t have intervened. What did I do wrong.
I’m a mess. I really started to love that lil guy.
RIP Skittles

Sorry to hear that.
Don’t blame yourself for helping. You gave him a chance at life but I suppose it wasn’t meant to be.
