Post a pic of your real car

After seeing a bunch of nice cars driving around, I couldn't help but feel the need to pull my Sportcross out of storage. And magically, the same day, someone finally bought the Jeep! Probably the first and last picture of the two together.

Almost 188k miles on the odo and still going strong. Engine doesn't burn a drop of oil. I'm hoping to keep this thing forever and am planning to do a engine rebuild at 300k for experience if it doesn't need it earlier. 2WD but I bought mainly to be a comfy DD that can tow a second car once I can afford a track/rallycross car (which will not be any time soon :indiff:)

I have to say I quite like those. My uncle bought one and it was the first ever SUV I drove. Looks clean!

My mom had a Pathfinder just like that when I was born.

Finally got my baby back from the body shop, 2005 Denali. This has been my service vehicle for 13 years or so with 300k kms on the odometer. That's closing in on 5000 days of work and probably upwards of 20,000 service calls. Up until this recent work, it has only missed 5 or 6 days in those 13 years, most reliable vehicle I've ever owned. It was looking the worse for wear for the last couple of years but still a workhorse. A few months ago I was run into by a drunk driver rolling through an intersection with a bit of damage:

Rather than buy a new truck I bit the bullet and had almost all of the truck worked on with a new bed, a couple of new panels and the rest touched up as needed. Only the cap wasn't painted. The insurance company provided most of the funds for that work and I dropped a newer motor into it and this is the result:

And I'm in love all over again!

alright, here's my current situation. the corolla AND the honda both have their engines out. reasons being the corolla developed a knock so its getting the bottom end rebuilt. 85% done. the d16 is getting fully rebuilt because, no, I do not want a swap. I don't like them. the honda is also a full blown ute conversation/racecar project as we speak. see for yourselves.

1zz on the left, d16 on the right.

Older picture (not showing my GTP number plate!)

Will be getting the wheels refurbed and powder coated soon hopefully along with a front brake upgrade so will get a picture for you all when that is done!

Love the Cappuccino! I've been looking at buying one but they seem to be creeping up in value.

And you wanted to turbo it... lol.

Hope you're okay with rebuilding your D16 often because they're notorious for weak bottom ends.

Drop an LS in it. Problem solved.

Edit: This was a joke, actually. Toyota and Honda engines are generally bulletproof otherwise. LS engines are incredibly bulletproof too IIRC.

Actually, most GM engines are impossible to kill, even if they run bad. My old Impala was basically a tank that took whatever was thrown at it. The only thing I had to do was keep an eye on one of the gaskets because it wore out early. I miss that thing...

Glad @SVX and @Korza could come along to spout more negativity about my cars. Every engine has its alleged issues, doesn't stop anyone from tinkering with em. Oh and I'm building my cars to my taste, not either of yours, thanks.

My post was a joke. Edited it with some stuff to make it more constructive.

Two things:

Maybe I wouldn't be so negative after I warned you about the exact same issues before hand - which you're currently experiencing. I know people that actually track these, not just planning to.

Second thing is that if you're so inept to criticism of your build, then you miss the concept of taste. To have taste is to have stuff you disagree with. I explained cold hard facts, and you've come back with a response that sounds like you want those issues. I've had the exact same engine in the Corolla for four times longer than you've owned yours for - then you have the cheek to call that experience "negativity".

His build, his taste. Let him do what he wants.

@Zyla, I never said you couldn't do your build. I never actually said anything about your ute build in the first place (which I don't know why people think I have something against). Korza and I stated the engines have issues. We didn't say anything about not doing it, I just asked if you're prepared to deal with the consequences of an objectively flawed engine. It's not negativity if it's fact and experience. There's alternatives for a reason. I know you don't like swaps, but it might be something you look into, because - and this is fact again - after the amount of money you spend on a SOHC to make it a high quality engine, the same amount builds you a good B16.

Apologies if it came off negative, but you've known me for how long now - you should know that when it comes to building cars, I don't sugar coat what I think, and neither does @Korza.

I'll just leave this here.

That Ranger looks great! I've been thinking about getting one for a while but haven't had the time to look around yet.

Thank you! Stole him at an auction for $7900 with only 42,000km! He's at 88,xxxkm now :D

You should they're great trucks. If you're getting a manual like mine just be careful with it, it's not a strong one.
