How are you liking carbon discs around town/in traffic? Do they suck cold?

I have no complaints at all. Even cold they are grabbier than the brakes on my daily, but not to the point of being obnoxious. Chevy and Brembo did a great job tuning the feel in my opinion. I think modern pad compounds have alleviated a lot of the issues we used to hear about using carbon/ceramic setups on street cars.

And of course they are incredible once you start really getting on them.

The Quad 442 arrived on Memorial Day, and as promised, here are more pics. It runs very strong, but up close it’s every bit a 28-year-old car, with many cosmetic things worn out, broken, or falling apart.

After swapping in the correct engine cover. It had a W41 cover on it when I got it, but it’s not a true W41 car, even though the mechanicals have been upgraded.

The idiotic door-mounted seatbelts, GM’s “clever” solution to the government’s passive restraint laws, which required either airbags or automatic belts. GM conned the feds into believing that consumers would leave the belts permanently buckled and get in and out around the webbing, rendering them “automatic”

After installing the spare console that came with the car. The original was badly deteriorated, with the vinyl armrest turning to dust.

Next thing to tackle is the A/C, which has an under-dash leak and doesn’t cool.

Very jealous, hopefully I can bring my car there someday!
Same here, haha. I wonder how the Corolla would fare against the Nurb.

I believe I need to take a few pictures of the thing now that I've made another post in the thread. :P

Haven’t posted in a while because building a time attack team takes a lot of work especially when you’re a college student athlete as well!

Is this the same Audi from before? If so, that's such a big transformation!

Totally different car on the inside too. It’s fun being able to beat Porsche’s with a big Audi...

My wife and I decided to take our cars out for a run last week while we still have some sunny days. First we took mine south to the bottom end of the Murray River (around Goolwa).

I still have this car too :D

And then we took the Outback north a couple of days later to the Riverland region.

Tried a look for my car to see if it would work. Could use some more realism but you can see the gist of it.

Might just save my money and get another A8L; this W12 A8L I've been looking at for a while. :P

As for the look and size... meh. Kinda like it, kinda don't.

At the Adelaide Motorsport Festival in December, while jumping the curbs of the Senna Chicane; I remember thinking to myself “I really hope someone gets a photo of this.”

It took me 6 months to find it, but it turns out someone did!

Awesome pic!

That is certainly an unconvential choice for a track car, though! What compelled you to use the 300?

It’s a bit of a long story
Basically it’s a joint project with my dad. Our first track car, an R32, was my choice. After a while we both got a bit bored of being “just another Skyline at the track.”

So when we, uh, upgraded (), it was dad’s turn to pick the base car. He’d been wanting to work on a late model Hemi for years and saw a lot of potential in the engine. Here in Aus, that means either a Jeep or a 300c.

I was hesitant at first (its very heavy obviously) but it’s ended up being a lot of fun. Both as a car to work on and drive; but also as an almost anti-establishment approach to a track car.

It makes people laugh, scratch their heads and ask questions. Which makes it all the more fun when they see it in action and realise that, despite the limitations, it’s pretty damn quick :D

Hunting Colors

I might as well put these pictures from my car thread here as well. I have no shame.

Just perfect with these trees and color! Nicely done

I really want to own a Porsche in the future, just don't have the place for it at the moment. Looking at a new house with the misses and we discussed having a garage, I really really want one so I can store a nice car (a Porsche) there. Just a couple of more years and I'll have one :D

At the Ring again :dopey:

First show since the wheels and lows. It was mostly an American car show so it didn't exactly turn heads, but I didn't mind! I can't help but feel it needs some spacers on the back from this angle though...

Your front left Hella fog lamp is crooked and my OCD is getting all tingly.
