Not much done to the car lately, besides a throttle body spacer. Some Koni Shocks are next on the list I'm thinking though, will most likely pick up a set sometime in November/December. After that, I'm not sure if I want to go for the downpipe, or a piggyback - neither of which would be happening till about Jan/Feb. Though, I'd only be opting for those if I dont have to smog the car next February - I believe it was smogged upon/before purchase and if so, I have another year before I'd have to deal with it.

Wanted to at least get one decent photo of my VehiCross project before the end of the autumn foliage. Still needs some work to be properly road legal in Maine and will need a decent cosmetic clean up before I can take more photos. (Still has remnants of the previous owner's stickers all over it)

3.5 ecoboost.

It’s stats are 310hp and 400 ft.lbs of torque. 15.3 in the 1/4 according to Car and Driver. I chipped it in the very beginning just to see what it could do. It was even more scary than I thought it’d be (keep in mind this thing is 9.5 feet tall). Quickly pulled it as it was completely unnecessary. I thought it might go in as my build will get heavier. But with 31 gallons of fuel, 3 dirt scooters on board, with 30 gallons of water and camping gear…. This thing doesn’t even break a sweat going up a grade.

Merging onto the freeway can be comical as people see a big van and instantly move to the left.

Now that's what I call a lightning bruiser. Good find, Yard!

Met up with @homeforsummer and went for a jolly. My Wagon R, hfs' Smart.

How it started:

The Suzuki on track was as terrifying as it was slow, but the needle crept to an indicated 95mph in a couple of places. It used a gallon of petrol a lap, in contrast to hfs' diesel Smart, which used... less. Neither car fell over in the Karussell, which was nice.

3 laps was plenty. By that point the Suzuki's brakes were not happy brakes.

No times, but roughly 12 minutes for me bridge-to-gantry in case you're wondering.

On the way there we also stopped off for a quick photo op and a tour of a former circuit:

And these were very rough figures from my second lap. Don't pay much attention to the time, as that was far carpark to near carpark rather than bridge to gantry. The fuel economy is likely a little lower in reality for the same reason (also because the trip computer over-reads), and the average lap speed is likely a little higher (since it wouldn't include a <10mph trundle onto and off the track for however many minutes). But still, mid-40s mpg and 50+ mph average from a car that is limited to about 85mph isn't too bad, I reckon

Moral of the story, take any car to the 'Ring, you definitely do not need a fast one and you will definitely have fun even in a slow one.

California got it's one rainy day for the year, so snapped a pic since it looked nice out. All of my plans for the car got shifted a month or two, been spending too much money and have a couple of bdays and holidays coming up, so might as well just hold off for a bit.

'04 R32 at the tail of the dragon before I sold it. Many hours of effort. Wish I had never sold it. Not sure what I was thinking.

Everyone I know who has sold a vehicle that was fun to drive on the Dragon has regretted it (unless they bought something better lol)
