So that's now two GTP members I know of that have an NC and a kei car.

I wonder if this is going to become a recurring thing. That Beat is gorgeous, though!
Thank you, I imported my Beat last year and it's been such a fun experience to own. 144,000km and its been well taken care of by the previous owner. Here it is all polished up earlier this summer. I Need to get the wheels repainted at some point. The NC is actually my dad's.

Hi guys

Whilst we are on the subject of yellow cars.. here is my ‘winter car’, a quite heavily modified GR Yaris (aka, Yoki the Yaris)

Finally had the chance to live out a lifelong dream two weeks ago.

The poor thing struggled as the mercury climbed but didn't miss a beat. Absolute 'pinch yourself' moment driving over the top for the first time.

...probably a loose interpretation of this thread but I think it sneaks in as I do own the car

My new daily driver - 2006 ZC31S Swift Sport with a couple of mods:

  • BC Racing BR Series (Gold) coilovers
  • Custom cat-back exhaust
  • ZC32S 17" wheels with Toyo Proxes Sport tyres

The clearcoat on the roof and bonnet is cactus, typical of cars left in the Aussie sun for years but it doesn't bother me, it was relatively cheap (AU$5k) and it drives fantastic. Love being in a nice chuckable warm hatch.

Been ages since I've been around here, had a few cars over the last 5-6 years I thought I'd share in a massive dump :P

First I had a 1996 Mitsubishi FTO GPX:

Was an impulse buy: manual, sunroof and the sweet, sweet mivec. Was everything I liked but unfortunately had one issue: Structural damage in the front end (hence why that front doesn't line up properly) was a fun car to drive around for a year or so but since it'd be too much time and money for me to fix up I ended up selling it to make room for other cars.

1998 Lexus GS300

My first "grandpa car", again was an impulse buy, but this one ended much better than the FTO. For a car with 300,000km+ everything worked a dream and very minor maintenance needed to get on the road (couple of control arms and a rocker gasket and she was mint)

Absolutely loved the car, it got me into the luxury scene that I absolutely loved. This was at the time I got off my P's, and I yearned for a bit more power. The 2jz can be turbo-ed but I'd rather just buy something already turbo rather than potentially grenading a 300,000+ old engine. So I sold it in search for my first turbo luxury car. I still had a soft spot for the GS300, and always kept it in my mind... (Le Epic Foreshadowing)

I then impulse bought (I'm seeing a trend here...) a 1997 Toyota Caldina

I saw this and was immediately hooked, a 4wd turbo wagon, what's not to love? Used it as intended a couple times going to IKEA (folding the rear seats down is something I now dearly miss), but at the end of the day, just didn't really jell with it, and I missed the luxury car scene. So I ended up selling it for the ultimate turbo luxury sedan...

Which ended up as a 2004 Toyota Aristo Vertex Edition

2JZ Twin Turbo POWAAAAA! After having the GS300 I just needed to get another one, but have it be faster. Ended up in the right place at the right time, and managed to snag this beauty. Came with the BBS rims and a TOM's catback, just did a couple extra mods (Greddy EBC, HKS FCD and Pod Filter, and GarageWhifBitz Dump/mid pipe) and it's all sweet. Still own it today as my daily. Love it to bits but I'm getting tyres for it tomorrow since it chews through them pretty quick (I wonder how :sly:).

Now I had my daily, I wanted a weekend car. Something I really wanted as a kid and will (hopefully) never sell. I saved up for a couple years, looking at the options I had.. Mitsubishi GTO, Supra, S2000, Skylines, WRX STI's, Evo's.. but there was one car I've always wanted as a kid, and during covid I thought they went out of reach, but they came back down and, much like the Aristo, I was in the right place at the right time.

My weekend dream car: 1999 Mitsubishi Lancer Evo VI Tommi Makinen Edition

This is it. I did it. A car I wanted since I was a kid, playing Gran Turismo 3, blasting Feeder and driving a modded TME around in all the dirt events. I never thought I'd see the day I'd sit in and drive a TME, let alone own one. Fun fact, until this car, I hadn't even SAT in an Evo, so it's the perfect car to pop my Evo cherry :P. They say never meet your heroes, but honestly this is an exception because I love this car to death. It's everything I hoped it'd be and more, and it looks a million times better in real life compared to a video game. I made a replica of it in Gran Turismo 7 (because why not) and plan on doing a 1:1 photo shoot of it using a scape from the game in the future (because.. why not).

So ends my car spree, alot of jdm in a little time. Hoping to keep the Aristo and TME for the foreseeable future, as they go hand in hand for what I want out of a daily and weekend car :D

Hi. I'm High-Test, and I have a diesel Mercedes habit.

The green car is a gray market 1983 240D 4 speed I bought in September 2019 for $1000.00. Her name is the unsinkable Molly Green, aka Molly The Goodest Car. In four years of daily driving, she took 0 rides on a tow truck. The one time she left me stranded, it was -6 outside and I had 15w-40 in the crankcase. The other times she wouldn't start, I had boogered the charging system. Best Car I've ever owned. Can't put miles on them if the odometer doesn't work. I've only put "38 miles" on her in 5 years. She needs a full restoration. it's not her fault she outlived two E320 wagons that were supposed to take the stress off of her.

The Red one is a 2014 E250Bluetec I bought in August after 5 years of the beater life got to me. I was tired of wrenching because I had to. Cheryl is the nicest car I've ever had. In the background is a Saturn Astra that I bought for 200 tortillas and have since paid forward for 200 tortillas.

Then there's this thing. A 1990 Toyota pickup, carburated 4 speed with manual steering and air conditioning. I've replaced the flywheel, clutch, brakes, alternator, had the clutch pedal bracket welded and reinforced, only for it to be one of the more unreliable vehicles I have ever owned. Two things were at fault. The fact that I decided the truck was male and named The Machine "Bert" and the fact that neither a rebuilt factory aisan carb nor a chinesium repop aisan would behave right. From December 2023 to August 2024, the truck left me stranded four times and almost caught fire a fifth. Now it has a weber carb, and I get to do more trucking around than finding out. The "I love this thing - why do I put up with this" cycle is very real.

Group photo of Crazy Chris' halfway house for German cars that might go all the way. Far back is a 1984 300TD with a rod knock. I'll get around to it.

Younger me would never have believed that his favorite car he would ever own would be the slowest.

Having a Midget means making fun of my Midget, so... I heard y'all like Midgets, so I got a Midget carrying a Midget carrying two Midgets.

73 I tried to post a picture didn't work wasn't sure if text went through. Trying again. It needs a wire replaced was working on it and heater box fell onto battery saw wire glowing but was smart enough not to touch heater box. Only thing I've not rebuilt is the rear-end. Still need to have no lead valves and valve seats which I bought about at least 15 years ago
Do you have an MG Midget?
