Please don't kill me, I barely draw people let alone draw that often. I decided to see if I was able to draw a "decent" picture of a person. The one on the left I drew when I was in the Philippines with no reference, the right one I used a picture as a reference.

Nice shading, I tend to do too much shading and it just turns into a grey mess.
Though it isn't as smooth since I just used the 2B mechanical pencil I had with me in class. I also smudged a little with my thumb to make it appear smoother because you know, we lefties know how to smudge our paper. 
That's amazing considering you did it with your non-dominant hand.
It took about an hour or more just for that small picture. Drawing and erasing and drawing and erasing and so on... Guess that proves persistence will eventually lead to somewhat of a success.
I really need to get my hands on a drawing tablet soon.

A drawing of the bat I did in high school, about two decades ago. Much of my older stuff was lost during my commute to and from Osaka, JP. I'm definately going to have to scan this from a better scanner.
