Thanks mate. Maybe a small image on Flickr makes them look better though. There's some really good ones from other people on fm.net. I might post some here.

Well I've been posting a lot in this thread but I make a photo thread. I made my own thread on fm.net but no-one replied. I've had some good comments in the main photo thread over there for some of my pics though.

Out of curiosity why are some FM3 photomode pics very small and others a little larger?

Every picture taken in Forza 3 is 1280x720, uploaded to fm.net, then you can download the 1280x720 image to your PC but people resize them to whatever size you see.

On flickr photo host site you have size options to link, 1280 and next is 500x. I could resize to 800x then upload but its quicker just to upload the original. People resize to make it look better as compression from the photomode harms the image. Flickr seems slightly sharper when hosting images.

If your PC OS is running at a high res then these 500x pics will be tiny. Images higher than 800x ruin the page layout for my setup.

Here:

Photomode pics are over-compressed for some reason (occupy less disk space on Turn10's server maybe?) so to get rid of compression issues people scale them down using a picture editing software. They end up looking quite good but they get really small in the process unfortunately =/

It depends on the compression. Coming straight from the game they're pretty large, but you have to compress them yourself to make them look better.

Thanks for the responses, yeah my desktop resolution is pretty high which makes it worse (not good when looking for paticular google images). Too bad about the compression.

That original size Aston pic is much better on my screen.
