I've just got myself back into this game, i'm mostly playing it online though now which i didn't before.
I go into most rooms and the PP is usually always set to one of the above limits.
So i'm just looking for a bit of advise on what is the best way to pick a car and run some set ups on it, i'm also looking at what is the best start up car to modify for each of the PP limits.
For instance.

PP400 - your car pick
PP450 - "
PP500 - "
PP550 - "
PP600 - "

As you can see this is my first post and hope i've put it in the right place.
Thanks for any input and advise given by you guys
Alan

It is odd that online lobby's have the above pp restrictions & none of the tuners tune their cars to match. It kind of makes them seem a touch pointless. It would be ideal for comparing tuning garages set-ups against each other, if their cars were tuned to a set standard. A standard that is also used in the online seasonal events.

Actually a lot of the active tuners do make tunes to specific PP levels either for use in online events or to run the Seasonals with. What most don't do is include the PP in their listing of tunes so you have to look at the specific tunes themselves to find that information.

Also as Cy pointed out a lot of the F.I.T.T. events feature a specific PP which generally falls in one of the ranges the OP was talking about.

In case anyone is interested I just published the following 600PP tune for use in the Stars and Stripes seasonal.
Plymouth, Cuda 440 Six Pack '71, "Hellfish"
It might require some tweaking if you take it online as I don't go there often.

Thanks for the link, the reason for my comment came from racing online in 500pp lobby's & constantly finding it full of M3 CSL's & NSX type R's. Although these are amazing cars I prefer Nissan Z cars & just wanted a competive set-up. I don't want to have to drive M3's & NSX's to be competitive.

To be honest, the M3s and NSXs are out of date, when compared to a few Elises 111Rs.

You can race with the best cars using the Alfa competizione ,even the Lambo Miura, RUF RGT, infinity coupe concept is a good car, Lotus evora also... the list is very long. But if you want to blow away any 500PP use a SUZUKI GSXR .

Not all PP-based cars are created equal. Some are simply faster than others. A 9 year old in an NSX could beat veteran drivers with expensive racing rigs driving something else. The car is just too fast for its PP level, and a tuned one is virtually unbeatable at 450pp.

You can get some other cars close to their performance, but it takes a lot of effort. You have to be willing to use tons of ballast and power reduction. You have to be willing to mess with all the parts available to find which ones work best at the target pp level and/or track. Finally, you have to be experienced with tuning the suspension for maximum grip.

Even then, some cars are hopeless. If you want to win, pick a winning car. If you want a challenge, pick a decent car and tune it. If you want to lose, pick a junker. Before you go online, compare lap times at your favorite circuits in practice mode. It helps to save a ghost of a fast car like the NSX and chase it down in a car you are trying to tune. The ghost will show you if you need more straight line speed or corner grip to improve your laps.

in most situations / tracks it is better to pick a car with lower pp than stated and build it up than it is to pick a car with higher than stated pp and limit it through engine restriction

I guess some cars have been turned up to 11.

I have a new 550PP road car tune , faster than LFA ,458, Alfa 8C........ NSX..... It's the HONDA HSC. This is my only road car with RACING SOFT tires that i make under 2'00" ( 1'59" 100) at Suzuka, and 6'30" on Nurburgring Nordschleife. I think the best road 550PP for online racing , any track.
Just wait my net connection and my "ONLINE OK" to publish it.

no don't publish it , just give it to me , i need to be competitive and for that i need all the help i can get :D

i'll swap some milk and cookies for it :D

no seriously , the other guys was right at 500 and 550 pp there are cars absolutely dominating the pack , yet i always found it more fun to take the odd car out ( chevy SSR or Chevy camaro both from praiano btw for example ) . There are still some gems in GT5 that can beat the M3's or NSX's on a good day but yeah they aint always easy to find ...
The Ruf for example is a great car

I love to race the ring with my yellow bird 550pp too. When i stick to the first cars till the straight it's a joy to pass them with a superior max speed. (no draft please).
I have a very good SUZUKI GSXR 500pp sport soft to publish also.

The HSC is really fantastic. We talk later about the cookies.

What! You didn't make the adjustments I suggested for my SSR and use it?:crazy:

Just joking praiano makes most of his cars with online use in mind so they are uniformly great choices for people that want minimul tweaking to get great performance online.:D

Hey DaDog, you do know that Clueless tunes has a HSC right?
Could be all the feathers in the drivers seat...:odd:

Ever get the feeling that the Dog isn't the most faithful companion?

Just joking DaDog please don't bite me.:scared::crazy::lol:

Not necessarily. The RUF BTR/Yellowbird is still pretty quick at 450pp as is the M3. Adding ballast instead of power reduction works quite well. It all depends on what the power curve looks like. Some are good out of the box with lots of high end hp and torque while others need specific mods to boost the high end without adding too much low end in the process.

I guess some cars have been turned up to 11.

👍👍

oh crap :scared: , i've done it now .

I'll start making the excuses now :nervous:....

I don't have an excuse :scared:

i'll go hide away in the corner now before i say anything else stupid and come up with an good excuse 💡

Bad dog! No cookies for you ...:lol:

to the OP, The cars in my garage are listed with the PP and HP in the OP. 👍

Oh sure you and praiano making me look bad for not including the PP in my directory listing...

Next you'll be expecting me to alphabetize my listing as well!

no no it ain't that , i mean all the tuning shops out there are of a very high standerd , some more organised then others .... yes that means alphabetical listing and PP including :D .

But in the end some comments are actually intresting .
Instead of listing them from A to Z why not make PP lists for example

450PP
car A
car B
Car C

500pp
car A
car B
Car C

and so on ....

And Boss you're still my nr1 tuner ( god i hope i don't get fired now :D )

you are not allowed , i race in you're lobbies to , i wanna win a race once in a while to you know :P
