Most engineswaps (even upgrades too) becomes a joke in this game bcs we`re unable to upgrade the tirewidth
It's not very well implemented, but you can upgrade the tyre width. That's pretty much the whole point of (and only reason for fitting) the widebody, other than for looks.

So, just to be clear, when we install a wide rim, the tyres are widened also? Or is there some other way of specifying the tyre width?

And it results in extra grip?

From what I can tell, fitting aftermarket wheels automatically widens the tyre whether you have a widebody fitted or not, but having the widebody installed allows the tyres to be wider still. Offset just spaces it further outwards and the wide rim option just fits slightly stretched tyres for the full 'I drive a stanced Golf and I vape' aesthetic (so, the alloy is wider, but the tyre is the same).

I've not done much testing but I always drive cars stock before I do widebody and wheels (power, weight, suspension and tyres are upgraded later), and the widebody+wheels does make every car feel more stable at the very least. I'll have to try fully upgrading a car before I change the wheels and see what difference it makes.

Speaking of hilarious, I did the engine swap on the older Mini and I get so much horsepower that my tires are still squeeling in fifth gear. I ran it at the Race A in Tokyo last week and laughed the entire time. I never could reach the PP limit no matter how much I added to it. I think it capped out in the mid-500s, so I’d imagine I could probably make a sleeper beast at around 400 PP.
That's a fun little car. I drive it like a rocket ship. Full throttle to take off then let off a bit so the front wheels can turn. Then more gas!!! I never know which gear it should be in because it kind of just drives how it wants to. 😄

I don't suppose to know what he meant beyond stating a feature that appears to be quite in the game isn't in the game. But increasing the width as far as I can recall, does increase the cars PP which suggests there is a supposed performance gain derived from it. Drag races would be hard to test as I don't think the difference would be as big as the variation between inputs on each launch, though I suppose you could do a number of runs and find a mean average.
It would also be hard to test in drag racing because an increase in tire diameter puts much more footprint on the ground than tire width does. There just isn't much footprint difference when making tires wider unless it's an extreme change, at least IRL which we all know PD recreates so accurately.

My guess is that you`ve never been even close to doin this IRL
But what does doing it IRL have to do with your statement about not being able to do it in GT7 being false? I'll tell you, nothing. Just because it's not like it is IRL doesn't mean it's not in GT7, it clearly is.

And then you have the gall to tell people who correctly confirm that it is in GT7, that they don't know what they're talking about.

Just accept you made a false statement and move on. No need to show yourself up any further.

"false statement.."
Yes, it was.

You stated that..
we`re unable to upgrade the tirewidth

This is clearly wrong.

In a way, but only as an narrow/wide or off/on function, not tuneable like IRL or any serious game. This here is on Mario Kart tuning level

My guess is that you`ve never been even close to doin this IRL

The fact it does not happen the way you want it to, or the way it would IRL, is irrelevant to the statement that (in GT7) "we're unable to increase the tyrewidth" and no amount of poo emojis will change that.

You need to move on and stop derailing the thread.

A Civic-swap Beat is the most hilarious thing I've ever done
Yeah I saw the other day a very fast Honda Beat, that must have had engine swap aswell
Didnt seem as fast as the Capuccino but still another car to consider. 👍

True, some cars with engine swaps just can't handle that much power. Another example is the old VW beetle with that appalling primitive chassis, which is completely unsafe to run with more than 50 HP and you can get it up to 300+ HP and the thing just wants to kill you at every corner 😂

I tried the Beetle fully tuned with something like 450bhp. Needless to say it now has about 250...
The Mini was surprisingly good, though! I used it for the hypercar parade on Trial Mountain, which was hilarious, seeing a twitchy 1965 mini scurrying past a Porsche 918 and an Aston Martin Vulcan...

Haven't tried the Mini yet but... With such a car, with front wheel drive, and a lot of power... Well, let's say this must only work without tyre wear.

Pretty much, but even with 500bhp it was manageable. It was on racing tyres though. On sport tyres it's a mess. But, for a comparison of PP, the Mini, with 508bhp, 610kg, fully upgraded on racing soft tyres sits at 615PP. The FK8 Civic with the same engine and power, weighing 1068kg, sits at 715PP on the same tyres. I'm willing to bet that if they were tuned to similar PP, the Mini would have the advantage.
