It's very easy to win the Suzuka seasonal with this car and this tune, just do a two-stopper in laps 2 and 8 (RS-IM-RS) or in laps 2 and 7 (RS-IM-IM or RS-IM-RS depending on the weather). Guaranteed win. :)

A few days ago made some tunes for the '00 and '01 Supras that work very well on the au Cerumo Supra (at least for me). I posted the tune in the Suzuka seasonal thread here: New Year Holiday Challenge: Suzuka Circuit 2014 10 Lap Survival Race

@ Praiano: Any chance of doing a set-up for the Pennzoil Nismo Skyline GTR '99 and the Calsonic Skyline '93 that can beat the Suzuka seasonal? Can't find a way to get rid of understeer for the Pennzoil GTR, the tune that works for the Calsonic Skyline '00 doesn't work for that one for some reason. :P The Calsonic one is just too slow, but that might just be the car's nature that it can't really keep up with the other SuperGT cars.
Thks for that Yuri, I just want a more challenging one pit stop for this Tom's Woodone Supra at Nurburgring, not Suzuka. I've won it few times one stop strategy but not easy as other like HSV, fully wet still win easy with one stop strategy. The best I could do at Nurburgring is with the Mazda LM55 , total time under 21 minutes without pit stop . Posted it at Nurburgring thread few days ago. Just couldn't understand why this Supra Woodone tires eat up so fast than the HSV. Thks buddy.

HONDA CR-X SIR `90 // 400PP // COMFORT SOFT TIRES

Extremly fast 400PP, Vtec make it fly. The great top speed is associated with a good handling , eagernes and grip. One of the rare FF i love to drive.

Laurent , could be tuned till 500 pp or maybe I met some faKe ?

Thanks , Massimo

Yes Maxxi. You can use it at 500PP. The problem is that the chassis don´t seems to contain all the power. At least, it mess with the driving line. It´s fast but not very good to drive, 400PP is the best range for it in my opinion.
With sport tires at 500PP most of the FF have traction problems. The LSD must be fine tune for the inside tire loosing grip before the exterior one. Just at the limit. I prefer to loose a bit of traction than loosing grip on this front ext tire.
Have a good day.

Thanks very much Praiano for all your work! I've been a lurker- tune stealer- etc for a few months now, but I got your app over the holidays because I felt guilty. Finding your blog really helped me to enjoy the game much more. I had found other tuners, but most of the time their settings were not that much better than mine- if not worse. Your tunes (although at times I wondered why comp was higher than ext) made the cars perform incredibly well in all cases.

I've always wondered a couple of things though. First: Why no Lotus Elan? I have an ok tune that I made myself, but the car doesn't seem as fun to drive as in GT5 where it was a giant killer.

Have you ever considered revisiting the 250 GTO to make changes after PD took away our ability to change camber/toe? They really ruined our ability to enjoy the car, and I'm sure it make sense to someone at PD for some reason. It could be a glitch too, but I assume everyone has complained to them enough already. I really enjoy that car and have tried my best to make it driveable (without SRF and ASM) so that it will be more competitive in Shelby Daytona vs 250 GTO runs through the Sierra Andalucia.

Thanks again and everyone have fun racing!

In the same path as crx in 500pp category you have the spoon civic.
Really a fast car for a ff can fight with a lot of other 500pp.
But Mr P is right about sports tire, ff make it burn too easily near 500pp even with a good lsd setup.

In 500pp ff i use the spoon civic as a race car and I thing have a good response with racing tires, maybe one of rare street car wich can use race tires

MAZDA LM55 VISION GRAN TURISMO GT // 700PP // RACING SOFT TIRES

No ride height settings or torque distribution. This strange LSD help in my opinion to make this car turn , principally out corner where it show a good eagerness now.

You´re welcome. The lotus elan have a very bad rear grip because of the skinny tires. This is the same with the LOTUS EUROPA SPECIAL `72 . The difference is that the elan is not so fun and not very performant for PP race. This is why i´ve let it back.

All right what you said Laurent. I just saw this behavior on the opposing car , swinging from right to left in a straight line.
Too much power inside....;)

Bye

Hello Laurent, I used your '86 Quattro rally car setup on the Anniversary Quattro for the latest seasonals without any changes for a 2.11.550 , any suggestions for snow V Tarmac settings. Thanks

Sorry my friend, i don´t know anything about dirt or snow settings because i almost never race or drive there. In my opinion this is not the best sensation at the wheel in GT6. If i remember GT3 tahiti maze was a lot better and fun. The car have allready soft springs, perhaps you´ll need to set the torque to the front wheels a bit more... around 45/55 or 50/50.
Good luck.

OK Laurent I'll give that a try tomorrow and hopefully drop a bit more time off the time trial. Thanks

i´ve tested today my '86 Quattro rally car on the snow. I have to say i´ve found it very good, it´s sane , easy and fast. I never drive there out of this kind of events but this time i´ve golded the first lap so easy, i don´t even know the track. The springs are already at the mini and the car have a good safe rotation with the tarmac tune.
I´m not a specialist but after this first test, i´ll not change anything on it.

Praiano, do you have any tips for tuning to optimise tyre wear? For example, left tyre wearing more then right, or front tyres more than rear?

Yes I've got to say it handles really well in the snow, like you I've only driven this track in seasonals , I changed the torque distribution to 50/50 like you suggested and dropped a few 100ths off the time.

Hello , ive answered this question in this thread How to tune a car for tire wear? Like MCH says, a balanced car will have beter tire wear but in my opinion 20% belong to the settings and 80% to driving style.
Good luck.

Hey Laurent,

you should try the Saleen S7, i used it for apricot, detuned to 500 pp on ss and it was VERY fast...

could it be an idea to give it a "praiano-touch" ?

grts Steef

Praiano, What is your opinion on the camber debate since the most recent update?
My opinion is still the same, 0.0 = max grip.

I don´t play so much lately, i´m working on 2 excelent fast 450PP , Lotus Elise ’96 and Mitsubishi CZ-3 Tarmac ’01. I can check the Saleen, it´s horrible at 600PP , let´s see.

I did some test this morning but 500PP need around 60% power limiter at +- 1300 kg.
This kill the car performance. But , i´ve found a balance that let the car very agressive and fast with a superior grip. At 550pp sport soft the car is faster than my CSL at SUZUKA, 2:01.8xx. An excelent reference for sure.
I´ll fine tune it and publish it together with Lotus Elise ’96 and Mitsubishi CZ-3 Tarmac ’01 soon.

Thank you for the new tune.

I wasn't able to get the correct PP and HP. Mine's at 558PP and 514HP, I changed the oil like it says in the tune and set the limiter to 89.1%, and 178kg ballet. Are you sure we need to change the oil?

Must be no oil change. I´ll check tomorrow and correct it.

what a gem!

I shaved off 1 second @ abricot detuned to 500pp, very nice drive.

With 550 at my favourite testing track deep forrest it is very fast and fun to drive, a bit loose but still possible to catch again and without stabbing you in the back!

thank you very much Laurent for this great tune! I love it!

I don´t like this car in GT6, it ned extreme setting just to take a simple curve. Very lazy, not fun to drive in my opinion. That why i don´t have one and i don´t pretend to to a tune for it.
I'm in a 600pp league running your gtr stealth model tune, but the last track is le mans (circuit de la sarthe 2013), is there anything you would change to the tune (besides transmission) for the long straights?

The car already have soft springs if i remember, the only thing i se is the downforce for top speed. Perhaps lowering both side would be a good choice , just test can say this.
