Prank? Or Just another Idiot?

As many of you know, one husband pulled a prank on his wife, videotaping with his phone a backwards-towed semi-truck.

What I don't understand, is why the media is making such a big joke about this? This freaking dumbass was driving while videotaping on the phone, not really paying attention! This isn't any worse than talking on the phone and driving, or texting while driving, so why is he getting all the he-he's and ha-ha's?
