Has anyone noticed this?
I've had the issue when trying to put decals on the roof of the Scirocco, and also the top rear of the La Ferrari.
The decal is invisible, apart from a split second when you can see it, which happens every 4 seconds or so.
If you place it and finish editing it is never visible.

Hopefully it will be sorted on the release

That split second shine is to let you know where your active layer is in case you’re stacking layers of the same color. Great way to know where you’re at. Forza does the same.
And why it is impossible? Some cars need to have roof decals placed on «other» and not «body». Then you can place it on the roof.

So, it’s nothing they need to fix. It works like it should, it’s just an odd location for placing roof decals.

When I tried with the scirocco, I chose body and then the roof view.
I will give it a go using other, hopefully that will solve it

It most likely will. It worked fine on my Lancer.

It depends on the car of the 8 cars I have 7 work with the normal selection of body then roof. With the Lancer N300 you need to do it in the Other section.

If you're not sure of the sections you are able to paint in each selection you can press R3 on the screen before you click to add a decal and it will highlight the area you can work on in the section you have highlighted on the left i.e. Body, Rear Wing, Side Mirror or Other.

You can put decals almost anywhere. What you select determines where you can though. If you press R3, the places you can place them on should light up light blue.

Yep, sometimes when you select roof it's actually the rear window.
... you can place decals on the windows?

As for the LaFerrari, you need to select "Other" to place anything on the roof. Stupid maybe, but hey... I've done a livery for the LaFerrari that should be shared online, if you want to see. Just search for "bornhall", I think I tagged it.

How come I didn’t know about this! It’s on «other» isn’t it. Nice! We can make our own windshield banners then!

Edit: nope... I can’t place anything on the windows.
Sorry, I should have been more clear. You can only put decals on windows that have panels on.

I have had some of the same issues. On some of the hoods, when the hood is bigger than n most I'm trying to place a decal above the wheel and when
I move the analog stick it goes all over the place and then I end up losing it and can't seem to find it again. So then I have to cancel the decal and
basically start over. Why does it do this?

Before you select your decal, you should select > projection method > align with the camera. Then you choose your camera angle and then the decal. I think that will solve your problem.

The controls for moving the decal are in relation to the car, not the view... so if you rotate the view by 90°, instead of the decal moving up, when you push up, it'll move left or right. This is really only noticeable when using the top down view.

Changing projection method changes how the decal is mapped on to the car, so using it might help, but it might also distort the decals.
