Ok, so I got GT7 and I encountered this problem.

I was able to select my first car, Mazda Demio and went into the cafe and selected the first menu etc.

But when I go to select a race track from the World Circuits to start the first campaign, I cant select any race track at all,
from Europe or Asia?

Europe is showing as 0/15 and Asia 0/9 and it looks like these are the only two selections/areas you can choose for your first race.

Anyone else encounter anything like this?

Thanks.

Thanks for the reply.

But I thought the first menu that you chose in the cafe required you to then go and pick Asia or European tracks to race?

My problem is,I cant seem to choose any tracks at all or am I missing something simple?

You need to "start" a Menu Book, then follow the yellow compass icon to do the appropriate task. Some early ones may not even be races.

Where is the yellow compass icon telling you to go on the World Map, and what does it say on the left of the top menu?

Can you provide a screenshot?

The first menu is acquire the only three cars available to buy in the used car lot, the aforementioned Demio, the Toyota Aqua S and the Honda Fit. One must be bought, the other ones must be won on specific events you go by following the yellow compass.
But, first, after buying the first car, your garage icon becomes available and only after going to garage, the Cafe becomes available and you can start the first menu.
After going out of the Cafe World Circuits and Showcase should pop out. You should be able to see the compass above the World Circuits icon. Going there there should be a unlocked track in America, one in Europe and one in Asia.
Also, you should see a compass in Europe and Asia but not in America.
That's because you have Northern Isle unlocked in America, that is the event to win the Demio you just bought, in Europe you have Lago Maggiore unlocked and BB Raceway in Asia, with races available to win the Toyota and Honda you still need to complete the Menu. You don't need to win the races, just finish in top 3.

You only unlock two another tracks after completing Menu 2 (Brands Hatch and Goodwood)

Thanks for the replies.

Ok so I will try and attach some screen shots

In the cafe this is the first menu.

As you've said the compass appears over the World Circuits, which I go into.Showing zero circuits available.

Its probably something simple and stupid that I'm missing...
Hopefully those screen shots help to show what's happening when I try and select a circuit.

I don't think so - the three first tracks should unlock when you've bought your first car from the Used Car Dealer; if you've bought the Mazda, it will unlock and direct you to BB Raceway (Asia/Oceania) and Autodrome Lago Maggiore (Europe), while also unlocking but not directing you to Northern Isle (Americas) as it's the prize car for the Sunday Cup there.

It should be an automatic process and it's clearly directing you to the tracks as it should, but they're not there. Easy to see why you're scratching your head - I would be too!

All I can suggest is some remedial action. First up, rebuild the database:
  • Turn off the PS5
  • Press and hold the power button for about five seconds to boot into Safe Mode
  • Connect a controller to the console with the USB cable
  • Select "Rebuild Database" from the Safe Mode menu

If that doesn't work, delete the entire 100GB+ game file, rebuild the database again, then reinstall the game with allllllllllll the updates.

Click on the compass icon on the Europe and Asia icons and that will direct you to the race event in each one. Always follow and click on the compass icon when doing the menu books.

Yeah I did that a lot of times, hoping it would just work.

But each time I click on Europe or Asia, including clicking on the actual compass icon,it just shows me a blank continent, with no tracks at all.

Yeah that is what I was afraid I'd have to do...start from the beginning again.

And it's not as if I have high speed broadband either, most updates take 8 plus hours!!!

On a sidenote,I've got to say it's very annoying to basically have to download something new nearly every time you turn it on.
I was used to buying a game, sticking it in and playing it until your thumbs got too sore...that seems like a lifetime ago now though, unfortunately.

GT7 updates once a month at best. If you're having to "download something new every time you turn it on," something else is wrong.

Apologies,you are probably right.

That was a bit of exaggeration on my behalf,it just feels like that when your internet is very last century and slow.
Downloads end up taking a very, very long time.

So if the only way to solve it,apart from smashing it with a sledge hammer,is to start again, what is the best way to do that?

Nothing else is wrong, it's just not updating as frequently as suggested. GT7 goes a month or so without being switched on in my house regularly and there definitely nothing wrong here. I'm spending my down time on other games that's all, GT7 has ran its course for me aside from the 30 min or so post update check-in.

Have any friends with faster internet? You could always bring your console to their house just to get the reinstallation updates out of the way.

start from the beginning again
is to start again
This isn't an option. The save file is stored remotely (by Polyphony Digital) and cannot be reset locally (on your console).

Rebuilding the database is the quickest, best, first option; if that doesn't work, deleting the entire game file and reinstalling from scratch is the slow, worse, second option - as per my earlier post.

Looks like I need a trip to Specsavers as well, sorry I missed that bit about rebuilding the database.
Thanks for that @Famine

Looks like I'll be trying that later on tonight so.

Yeah,I have thought about trying that.
I must try and ask them nicely 😉

Longterm,I think something along the lines of satellite broadband is the only and best long term solution.
I recently checked to see when our line would be upgraded to high speed broadband and it said in about 5 years time...high tech country,my ar$e.

Ok so I followed what you said to do Famine, Rebild the Database.

Still the same, cant see or select any circuits.

Looks like I'll have to delete the game and start again.

What is the best way to completely delete a game from the system?

Sounds like it is disconnecting from the internet consistently, but not long enough to actually register as the console going offline. With the limited info seen in the thread And the added downloading speed info I’d guess it is your internet speed.

Not slow enough to trigger the game to say you are offline, but just slow enough to make communication time out between your console and PSN GT7 servers not loading the data in the menu.

If you have access to anyone or anywhere that has faster more consistent internet service, test that to see if it is the cause of your issues.

It is looking similar as when you load the game and then disconnect the internet from the console in the menu map screen working with sub menu’s loading up all blank

Settings -> Storage -> Games and Apps -> Gran Turismo 7, X -> Select Items to Delete -> Delete

I'd Rebuild the Database again before you reinstall it.

Thanks again everyone for their help with this so far.

So I did the things as suggested, deleted GT7,rebuilt the database but just the once as I had already started downloading the game again when I seen your last message Famine.

I borrowed a 5G router from a friend so that really helped, download completed and....

Same thing again,I cant choose any tracks!!

Any more suggestions as to what to do,or something I'm still doing wrong?

Have you got any friends with either a PS4/PS5 and a copy of GT7? What I'd try next is attempting to play the game on a different console.

That'll either work and (could) fix the issue on yours or it still won't which will indicate an issue with your game save itself. Which is problematic, but not necessarily unsolveable.

It's definitely not a "you" problem though; the game is directing you to the right place but, for whatever reason, has not unlocked the circuits in order for you to continue.

No, I don't know of anyone close that would have another Play Station.

I don't suppose its worth trying to contact Sony directly?
And if I did I very much doubt they would do anything anyway.

I was sort of thinking it might have been something to do with my very slow internet
connection that I had, but since I was able to change that recently, and I'm still seeing the
same problem, its obviously not that either.

If I cant find a solution, the only thing I can see that will fix it, is to go and buy another copy.
Definitely not something I want to do, paying twice for a game.

That won't help if the issue is in your save file - which is where I think it is.

Try this:

Thanks again for that link Famine and your help. Its very much appreciated.

I have just sent in a request using that link, guess I just wait to see if they get back to me or if they can do anything.

Thanks again 👍

Just to update this.

I followed Famines advice and filled out that form about 5/6 days ago.
I didn't hear anything back from them but I said I'd just try the game again this evening.

Turned it on and hey presto...I could see tracks that o could actually race on!!!
Dont know what happened or why its suddenly working now,I'm pretty sure it hasn't downloaded any updates within the last week, bit of a mystery.

But after a long time of waiting,I can finally get to play GT7.

Thanks for everyone who replied to this thread or tried to point me in the right direction, your help was much appreciated.

Now to catch up on building my dream garage....😉

So im also having that problem, only thing is this just started happening out of the blue. Every event i attempt take part in the same thing happens, i select the event it loads but when the race screen should be popping up i get a blank screen. All the hud things come up the course map comes up the dash is there i can hear my car the throttle works but i cannot see the track. This is out of the blue im on level 36 have over 100 cars all the licsenses and all of the sudden i cant see any of the race tracks. Someone help. .

im also having that problem
You appear to be talking about an entirely different problem. That member couldn't see any events to enter - and it was a save file issue - while you're talking about a problem once you've entered the event.

Can you provide some video (using your console's Share/Create functions) to show the issue?

Either way, as a first step I'd suggest the same remedial action:

Hi,I've just done brands hatch & Goodwood, but it's only released one Japanese circuit, even though I won the first Japanese circuit 😭
