Wondering if there's anyone else with a similar problem to what I'm experiencing and, if it's a known issue, whether there's a workaround solution to correct it? The issue is that I've seemingly lost all game progression and all my cars in the garage.
All the 25th Anniversary cars, the cars that I bought, the gifted AMG Vision GT, and the cars gifted through the natural course of game progression are missing. The last car I drove (which would normally be the car you'd currently be occupying) is listed in the top right corner, next to the start menu - it's also the car that shows up in the game save file. Looking in the stats section lists one car in ownership, which seems to suggest that, although all the other cars have been wiped, the car I last occupied has not been. However, any section that requires a car in your possession prohibits my entry (Garage, Online Seasonal Events, Career Mode, Tuning and Maintenance, Goodwood, Photo Travel), stating that I need to be in a car to proceed (allows entrance into Lunar Exploration). So, literally, all the cars in my possession have been wiped.
Oddly enough, the AMG Vision GT concept car, which should now be listed at 1,000,000 credits, is now available to be gifted again in the Vision GT section, as if it was never awarded in the first place. Receiving the car as a gift again allows me passage into those previously blocked areas. All the gold medals and all of the stars in Novice and National B have been wiped. Yet, I can still enter into the National B and National A area of Career mode which would normally be locked unless you previously unlocked it (International B, International A, and Super still have the locked graphic in the corner). It also states that I have a National A license in my Stats area (even though the National B License Test and the National A License Test are both locked).
All the gold medals in the Goodwood Festival of Speed are also wiped, however, all the missions up to the Ford GT40 are still available with a "NEW" demarcation, indicating I have somehow yet to enter any of them (I had four intervals of those Lord March invites). Of course, if I had not entered any of them there should only be the first set of three missions available to enter. There's also videos in the Gallery showing some of those missions being completed with times seconds below the target required for gold medals. How is it possible to have such contradicting data within a single game save profile?
Stats area shows self conflicting information as well. Game progress is now at 0%, with zero license awards, and zero stars, yet it states that I've had 44 races, covered 398 miles, amassed total earnings of 479,330 credits and currently have 396,830 credits. It shows the figures for "Longest Total Distance", "Most Wins", and "Top Speed" in a car, along with the name of the car that stat was accomplished in, however, the cars that would normally be pictured beneath the name are absent. The "Favorite Course", which would normally show the track with the most mileage is simply blank (---), indicating I have yet to step foot onto one track at all.
The trophies awarded during the natural course of game progression are also present in the Trophy Collection on the server side, most, if not all, of which would not be possible with a 0% game progression, zero license awards, and zero stars (Novice Graduation, Careerist: National B, All-Gold National B-License, All-Gold National A-License, Twinkle Twinkle: 25 Stars, Starstruck: 100 Stars, etc.).
Everything in the options menu is also exactly as I've set it up from the beginning (Steering Controller setup, Sound setup, etc., down to the Demo Start Interval). It's like I'm starting with a new game profile in terms of game progression and yet it's clear that there are remnants of my original game save file, as well as its true state of progression.
Don't know if it has anything to do with this, however, before the game fully booted, there was a notice for an update, to which I confirmed yes - I had already downloaded and installed the Day One 1.01 Update at the very beginning.
I'm also aware that people have lost cars placed in the Stockyard, however, this issue involves the loss of all cars in the Garage (not in the Stockyard, although I did place them all in the stockyard early on to see what that was about before immediately transferring them back), and the loss of game progression back to square one with clear indications that the game recognizes progression has occurred well beyond that point.
Obviously, there's something wonky going on and I certainly don't want to have to delete my save file and start all over again, nor do I want to proceed with the current save file, which would basically be like starting all over again without the ability to get all my cars back - quite a frustrating set of options to be given. Is there anyone else out there with the same problem? Is this a known issue that people (and Polyphony) are aware of and is there a way to fix it?
