Problem with PS5 Pro with VR game play?

Hello,
I bought my PS 5 Pro last Thursday and had no problems with it while playing GT7 in VR. I've always turned of my C1 OLED while playing to conserve energy and hours on the TV and all worked well while doing so, until last night that is. I jumped into my rig to do the new weekly's and every time I would turn my TV off, my headset would go black and the console would reboot? Like I said, all worked fine the first two times as it also did for almost three years using my PS5.

I checked every setting, VR setup repeated times and nothing would work!! Kept rebooting every time, so the only way I was able to play in VR was by leaving my TV on. I also tried it with my 4K receiver on/off and nothing helped!! I sure hope someone might have an idea what is happening, as I'd really like to solve this problem and save the wear/tear on my TV?

Thank you very much in advance!
Pierre.

Sounds like HDMI CEC controls. Should be an easy fix but I'm not by mine to lead you through it.

Thanks for the quick reply. I decided to re-calibrate my Pioneer VSX LX101 Elite receiver, all the settings looked good, not exactly like your screen shots and firmware is up to date. Went back into my PS5 Pro, launched GT-7 in VR, turned TV off and........ same problem, console shuts down and slowly reboots itself!! Any other idea PLEASE!!! 😏

Thank you, thank you a million times!! 👍I did so and sure enough I'm able to play in VR again with my TV off!! Kindest Regards good sir!
Cheers, 🍻

I've only just got a VR a couple of days ago so haven't had a chance to use it when the TV is in use by someone else.

Am I able to navigate it all through the VR (select user and everything) or do I need the TV for that?

PSVR2 only requires a TV for the first initial pairing / start up. Once you complete that, you should never need to use a TV again. You can navigate any menus within the PSVR2 the same way you can on a TV. When you don't have a game launched, the VR headset is in theater mode. It's just a flat screen in front of you. You can adjust the size of the flat screen in the PS5 settings.

I haven't had a HDMI cable connected to my PS5 since I did the initial start up. It's only connected the the PSVR2.
