I've got a problem with the Win(doze)dows XP on my mom's new Dell upstairs in our house..There's some sort of an error wheere it won't go back to the logon screen, it just gives me a ton of error messages that tell me about "Line 45" and a "parse" error or something like that. I've got about 2 hours until my mom comes home to find her computer screwed up, please help!

Well, I go to "Log off" on the start bar, and then click "switch user" once the window after that pops up. Then I get an error message that reads exactly -

Parser Message
Value creation failed " at line 45

There's quite a few of those messages popping up, then eventually you get to a screen where it says -

This computer is in use. Only Ryan or an Administrator can unlock this computer.

Have you tried completely shutting down and cutting the power? Then turn it back on. That seems to help a lot with Windows.

If that doesn't work, you're pretty screwed. It is also possible that you could just redo the users from the control panel, and that might help. Most likely, you're completely ****ed. Don't forget to check the knowledge base! Just type in the error message in the search box.

Yes, actually, I did. I just had to go into StyleXP and changed the logon screen back to the default. It must have been something to do with logon screen I had set.

I could have been more helpful if you had mentioned you were using StyleXP. Roll and eyes!
