Problems with the old Driving Force

Hi there,

As I know there are some comman problems with the Driving Force (Not the Pro, EX, GT or G25... I'm from another generation :yuck:). Today I took my wheel and started GT4 (haven't played for over half a year), then the problem came up. When driving straights the wheel stars to shake, and I can handle the car. It's okay while driving an Audi A3 (but take over another car is very hard while shaking from left to right)... but when I took my Audi TT DTM modified car, it wasn't easy to handle on the straight ends...

So I searched this forum, and searched the internet for it. But I thought it was possible to adjust the Force Feedback on the steering wheel, but I can't find out how to do. I already tried to change some settings ingame, but it didn't work out.

I hope someone can help me, because I don't want to buy another steer yet...

(btw I play on a PS2)

Thanks in advance!

I think you got the GT3 wheel. 99% the optical sensor is dirty.

Crack it open and blast it with air and see if it will fix it.

It's not that the reason imo.
When I drive a super car on Le mans circuit, for example, the wheel starts to shake like it's crazy when I get to high speeds. It's the Force Feedback which is much stronger on those super sports cars(hard suspension, short turning angle etc) and plus the 180 degrees wheel and you have that shaking.

With a wheel like DFP the shaking is almost absent(like it's shorter) due to its 900 degrees motion and also precision is better.

I also found out that when I should drive a straight line, my steer isn't in the middle... So it doesn't callibrate right, and then I think the force feedback want to push the wheel back to the middle... Can this wheel be manually be callibrated, or manually change the force feedback???... Because I know, when you drive a car with 300 km/h it is possible that it starts shaking :)... But it's very annoying whil trying to get in a opponents slip stream and your car is going from left to right...

And I think it's the one with GT3, the steer has some blue griptapes on it... I wish i bought the DFP 3 years ago in stead of this bad wheel
