Professional League - Supercar series

I was able to get something like a 20-35 second lead on all of the races in a moded Skyline, but when it came to the final race, I just couldn't do it. This is my last race before I can move onto the championship and extreme league.

I decided it was time to buy an actual supercar, so I got a Saleen S7 (I heard it was kick-ass from a friend, don't ask). The best I can do after that is 2nd in A-Spec and 4th in B-Spec, after about 4 attempts at each (I've only been playing for 4 days). :indiff:

My question is: is the S7 a bad choice for the final race in the supercar series? I was thinking about trying out one of the Tommy Kairas with some posted settings, but I'd rather save money and just do it with the S7. I haven't played with weight, brake, or anything too serious with transmission/suspension other than lowering it, tightening it and turning up the gears for more top speed.

This race series is winnable in a wide variety of cars, Brick.

For example: Supercar Festival [200 A-spec] M3 GTR: New oil; S1/S3 tyres; NA2 induction.

For myself, I did this in a Cerbera if I recall rightly (I don't have access to my notes right now).

As a general approach to guessing at what you need to win, have a gander at your replays and see what lap times the AI are pulling and then get a car tuned to a point where you can equal or surpass those times.

Let me guess: Your Saleen has an understeer problem.

Try these settings:

SR: 9.2/12.0
RH: 75/75
SB: 3/6
SR: 4/7
Cam: 3.1/0.5
Toe: -1/1
Stab: 3/5
BB: 2/9
LSD: None
ASM: 0/0
TCS: 3
Autoset: 1
Final Drive: 4.75 (Approx.; adjust for track)
Front tires: S3
Rear tires: S2

I haven't spent a lot of time on this car, and I'm sure the above can be improved upon, but they seem to help a bit. Go to S2 fronts if the S3s don't go the distance.

Interesting, isn't it, that PD programmed so much understeer into this car, and, oddly enough, won't even let us put a GT Auto wing on it? Perhaps if the real one was made in Osaka, rather than Newport Beach, things would have been different...

Thanks for that. It is a bit saucy coming out of the turns. Sometimes I can't keep it straight going down a long portion of track, either.

Dang. Try S2 front tires instead of the S3s.

Are you using a DS2 controller? This setup may be a bit dodgy for that, as opposed to a wheel. You may need to apply full LSD, with stock 10/40/20 settings.

Forgive my :dunce: , but I can't seem to find LSD settings. Is that something to do with limited slip?

By the way, I set up the S7 to have very similar settings to the ones posted. I ran it with the S3s in front and S2s in back and finished in first. The back tires were yellow as I finished. Also, does anyone know the percentages of wheel grip at different temperatures? Like 75% at blue, 100% at green, 60% at yellow or something like that?

I use a DS2 controller, but I've been considering a wheel. Is the PS2 DFGT the only one to consider or are there other ones out there for cheaper that work just as good?

for the lsd, make sure you have bought the customizable LSD from drivetrain upgrades.

for the tire grip, i would have guessed it was more like 50% at blue, 100 green, 90 yellow, 75 orange, 25 red. who knows...

only have a DS2 myself...

imo its time to get a real car. i used a saleen for this race series but i realized when i got into the extreme hall a saleen just cant compete you need to get something faster, if youve unlocked the endurance races use the s7 to beat some of those and you can get some fasst cars like the f1 from the nurburg 24.

I've completed all the races so far. I've still got the World Series Pro Circuit to do before I can move on to the extreme hall. I was thinking about saving up for that 4.5mil BMW, it seems like a lot of people on these boards like it.
