Welcome to my first online build log! While I am relatively new to the forums as a registered member, I have been lurking and admiring the wonderful projects that you have all being undertaking for quite some time. I have built many computers over the years but admittedly the past couple of years I have been too busy having kids, working...well you know, life just gets in the way sometimes!

So, my project log, here goes!

Progect 77, an acrylic based case mod featuring the ASUS CG8480, a Republic Of Gamers based build with a slight twist. When I bought the 8480 the hardware spec was as follows:

P8Z77M Pro
i5 3570K
8GB RAM
ASUS GTX 650
1TB HDD

Since the initial purchase I have made some slight changes. I replaced the stock power supply with a CX650M, added some Corsair 120mm fans and switched out the GTX 650 for a GTX 770 (ASUS of course). I have a triple screen rig and wanted something with a bit more oommpphh to game on. A Sandisk Ultra Plus SSD was also added to speed things up.

The CG8480 includes a turbo button to get me up to 4.1GHZ with some great leds to show the overclock stage. I admit I pretty much bought it for, in my opinion, a fantastic looking case. It also gave me a base to work with when I had the time to start tinkering, and now as I finish a custom F1 steering wheel project, this will take me into 2015 nicely before a more adventurous project.

Please excuse my Sketch Up skills as I present my rough sketch of what I will be creating:

Due to my Sketch Up skills, trying to replicate the actual CG8480 case proved too difficult. The acrylic case will replace the current interior and I will leave some of the things I have planned for the exterior as a surprise for you all.

The components that will be used for the build will include some that I already have with some additions to really make this a truly ROG based system.

Hardware list:

ASUS Maximus Gene V Found a brand new board
i5 3570K Already own
16GB Corsair Dominator or Vengence To purchase
Corsair CX750M Will upgrade when I purchase the second GTX 770
ASUS GTX 770 2GB x2 SLI One down, one to go!
Sandisk Ultra Plus 128GB SSD for OS Purchased
Sandisk Ultra Plus 256GB SSD for Steam/Origin To Purchase
2x Corsair 120mm Fans Need dusting off!

Ok so, getting on to the before photos.

I present to you a slightly dusty and quite messy (cable wise) starting point to this project.

And a quick peek at my current rig, excuse the mess and picture quality, the battery was on its way out.

The F1 rim is still a WIP, I am waiting on a friend to produce the decals and finish it all off.

Now just waiting on deliveries to get things moving forward, hurry up postman!

On a side note, got confirmation that Justin from Parvum will be doing the inlay work for me on this build. I just need to send the dimensions over for a quote and crack on!
