Hey guys, I don't want to simply "pimp our channel" etc, but I wanted to give a heads-up that we got an Alpha Build of the PS4 version of Assetto Corsa today, so I'll be livestreaming it tonight (2/3/16) on our Youtube Channel starting at 7 p.m. Central.

I'm limited to 3 cars and 2 tracks (which I believe have a couple of variations?) for the stream, and can only do Hot Laps and Quick Races, but we can definitely tool-around the menus etc as well. I've only done 2 quick races using the DS4 so far, and it's definitely going to take some getting used to.

Anyway, for tonight I'll be using the Thrustmaster T300RS so I can check the force feedback out as well. I hope you folks can join me. I'm really excited to get to play and show this off!

Whats central time zone converted to GMT? UK time

Usually -0600
The replay will be available on our channel as well
Kewl, hopefully you'll be doing V.O too, not just a viewable stream, well I'm eagerly awaiting this extensive stream. Catch you then, and thanks BTW, one request. To see if it's possible to lose the hands on the wheel, or the steering wheel itself. Juice

Yeah, I'll have a mic, but I don't know a ton about the game itself. Not sure where my webcam is currently either...

How did you come across this alpha copy of Assetto Corsa? Is this live stream being conducted with the blessing of Kunos?

Thanks for posting that. Yeah, OBS did NOT like Youtube last night, so I had to move to Twitch.

I'll play some more and start turning assists off when I feel more comfortable. That was my 1st time playing last night.

Man, those on-screen bits are so much better looking than what we get on the PC. I hope someone will create a mod to allow us to have them.

Oh really? You mean the OSD stuff while you're racing? I've never played the PC version (need a new gaming rig)

Kind of an odd feeling when they are getting something better on console.:odd: Just doesn't seem right:guilty::odd:

I'd assume they'll add some of that stuff to the PC version at some point. They seem very vigilant in keeping parity as much as they can. They even said that they had to rewrite the rendering engine for consoles, and that their multi-core code was added to the PC Version.

I believe Stefano said that PC users would not be getting the new HUD elements, nor any changes to the career mode (not sure if there are any changes to career on console but if there are we won't be getting them, and that's one area that needs a lot of improvement).

No offense but it's cringe worthy watching people take extremely fast cars and crash into other cars, spin etc. My suggestion would be to practice a little with the game first and if you don't have time for that then run solo laps on a track learning the car/track combination as part of the stream and give feedback on the car, the track, the FFB etc. 10-15 minutes of hotlaps followed by a race, done twice to cover an hour, would be more enjoyable to watch IMO.

Then buy PS4 :P
If the online community gets to be as big as it was in GT5 days (haven't played GT6 so don't know if still large) I just might. Would have to loose triples, but other than that I believe I'm good to go. Even have a PS4 here somewhere.

Reflection in mirrors is really ugly, sounds seem inferior to PCARS somewhat but the physics look great.

Not sure if it will be the same on consoles but on the PC you have several options for the quality of reflections in the mirrors. But, high quality reflections like that are resource hogs so they may have had to make some concessions. But when comparing AC to PCars remember that AC has better/more complicated physics and the AI uses the same physics so the demand from those two things aren't going to leave as much headroom for bells and whistles that PCars has. So if there's a certain element where PCars is better than AC it likely means there's another area where AC is better than PCars which caused the need for a compromise.

If I had to guess, I'd say that PCars console users will be able to find several things where they can say PCars does it better than AC. But once they get sucked into the excellent driving experience (and better AI) that AC offers they'll soon forget about most of those things and find themselves being pulled to AC more and more. It's going to be one of those things that is impossible to judge based on outside observations alone, you'll have to get your butt in the seat and your hands on the wheel to really form an accurate opinion about it.

AC has it's issues and I've been as critical of it as anyone but I think for console players who have been longing for a proper PC sim racing experience, they're going to love its positives and not be too bothered by any negatives. It will leave you wanting in some areas but there's more than enough to keep you immersed and smiling for quite some time.

I played GT6 online in the first six months and the online community was not as big as in GT5 days.

I will buy PS4 only if GT Sport worth it,if not I will stick to PC.

It's even smaller on PC, and fractured between all the different sims (and at times it seems the fans of different sims are at war with each other). I really miss the GT5 days.......

Thing about GT is though, you might have 150 lobbies to choose from but once you eliminate the racing tires, high PP, drag, drift, cruise etc. lobbies, you'd be lucky to find a dozen lobbiesw
ith somewhat realistic settings. At least on pc everyone is looking for the same thing as I am.

I was lucky to have enough friends which like to race with all AIDS and ABS OFF,sports or comfort tires, heavy damage and real grip :)

I was referring more to the actual community. There were thousands of people enjoying and discussing GT5 on here everyday and I could lose hours a day just reading and discussing things with fellow GT5 folk. Add into that the clubs and leagues with like-minded people (which weren't in short supply) or just getting together in a room with your friends to hoon and talk about cars. It was glorious, and sadly will probably never be replicated.

In the video the person talks about +/- 150 cars. I have seen a list of around 90 at the racedepartment topic. Their official blog says Maserati is coming

And here we go: Kunos Simulazioni welcomes Maserati Automobili, introducing the world-famous manufacturer to Assetto Corsa in 2016 with some of its most iconic cars and most recent models. Any clue? Here you go: have you ever wondered how Fangio felt driving F1 cars in the ‘50s?

Thanks to the success of the Audi R8 Ultra 2014, and as a response to the requests of our fans, we are going to replicate the brand new R8 Ultra 2016. The new amazing Audi car will not come alone, since we are also working on the Audi R18 E-Tron, TT VLN 2014, TT CUP 2015, A1 S1, Sport quattro S1 E2 and TT 2015 models.

What is presented in total is around 100 to 110 cars which means there are still around 40 left. We are pretty close to release date so I was wondering if there is somewhere an official full list of what cars and manufacturers will be present in the final release?

Not yet. Likely it'll come just before release.
