GT4_RuleAnd, does turning off mean, like, completely shutting off the power to the console through the switch at the back, making the red LED disappear? If that's the case, then I havent turned the console off in well over half a year!! Is there any problem arising from that? Like, would it damage the fine electronics inside because the power is continuously being supplied, or is it okay? I haven't actually played the game for more than 6 hours at max, but I play around 4 hours often (every day).
whatupdetTurning off means red light is still on. You're fine doing what you're doing, I ended up completing the 24 hour race. It took me a week because of work/school and having a life. The most I actually have played my PS2 in one sitting with only minor breaks(eating/bathroom) was 16 hours, that was fun. I got off from work around 4pm, starting playing around 6pm until 11am the next morning. This was when GT3 was out and I had just bought it along with a memory card.
I'm after having the PS2 on for 1 week straight twice(once for the 24hour endurance and now for the FormulaGT)
I didn't realize that the PS2 was such a tough beast. Is the XBOX the same?
GT4_Ruleholy cow
you played for 16hours straight on....
nice
well, I got it now, I won't be so worried anymore
thanks whatupdet!
uRabbitUmm... Doesn't he kinda have to worry about changing tires? I'm sure the tires will be warn dry in 12 hours time...
Sniper596So now, I'm going to do the 24 hour race again, but with an action replay set to one lap (if doable) race; I don't care about "integrity" anymore, I already won it genuinely, the ps2 cheated me. So in other words, user results will vary.
As long it's not a Slim Ps2, because that thing has no cooling source whatsoever, unless you go to the extreme of drilling holes in the outer shell of the slim Ps and stick a usb fan (for laptops) in front of thoes holes to keep it cool.
Either than the slim ps2, the original should do just fine unless the grills are clogged with dust. (Be sure to maintain that part since a lot of people don't do so)
why would you reply to a thread that has been dead for almost a year ?
... and BTW the slimline PS2 can stay on for months without modification
Famine is right, but also as I said in a previous thread about it somewhere, is that I have it on ceramic flooring in my basement so its cool and its low so the coolest air goes through but if you are in winter like I am move it away from an air vent blowing hot air. During the hot summers with your air conditioning or a/c whatever you would like to call it blowing cold air, put it right beside the vent. On a side note, clean the ducts on ur PS2 and fan about once a week or every 2 weeks for proper air circulation. The PSTwo does contain cooling sources in the shape of an external heatsink and an internal fan, AND the primary source of heat - the transformer - is external. Providing it's located sensibly, with good air circulation around it, it's just fine to be left on 24/7.
too bad can't watch the race in 3x speed, would be kinda funny to see Bob eat a wall at 600mph![]()
