PS3 control pad issues?

I'm getting weird triggering on my GTA5 game on the PS3.

If I press down and hold the L3 or R3 (the stick buttons) to sneak/honk horn or look behind, while moving the sticks around, sometimes the mobile phone pops up or I exit the car and do likewise. As if the D-Pad buttons or face buttons have been pressed, even if I didn't.

Does this happen to anyone else?

I haven't noticed this but maybe I'll have a test when I get home. I do get a bit of lag when I try to look behind whilst I'm driving though, which is a little bit of an annoyance.

I haven't noticed any ghosting or stuff of that sort on the 360 version. Might something be wrong with your pad?

Nothing here. I've got roughly 20 ish hours into the PS3 version.

The most I've noticed is that sometimes the game won't respond to the triggers, which worries me if I'm in a gunfight, but hasn't happened yet. Mostly while driving the triggers won't respond here and there. But no control pad issues.

Yea massive delay when using the L3 rear view button, I don't notice it much anymore but was very strange at first.

Thanks, guess I have a bum pad. Maybe pressing down the stick buttons is warping the board inside and second triggering the pad buttons

GTA5 has made me realise how much I dislike the PS3 control pad, after using the XBox one on my PC!
Too small and cramped
My fingers get tired holding down the triggers for throttle as well :(

See if I can find an Xbox style pad for the PS3 or even use an Xbox one on it :)

I'm not the only one, then. You could get a 360 controller to work with the PS3 by using something like the XCM Cross Battle Plus adapter. I don't know whether the results would be on par with a third party controller, though. However, the 360 gamepad is hard to beat, so I'd most likely try an adapter myself...

Well I got the controller - in a nutshell it's terrible :/

The sticks are too high and have a dead zone.
And the D-Pad is positioned too low, and makes using it with GTA5 a pain.
Feels really cheap and flimsy...

The Xbox controller is much better - guess I'll back to the other option and grab an adapter box instead...

At least I know my PS3 controller is the one that is playing up.
