Name: John
Age: 39
Job/Career/Money Source: Management.
Bio (description of your characters past, present, and future goals): John was born to a relatively normal two parent family in North Yankton. Being the middle of two brothers, John often found himself overshadowed by the less than legal hobbies of his older brother and his younger brother's successful highschool football career. From an early age, John was fascinated by cars. Luckily for John, his father had a silver Phoenix for most of his childhood, until John's older brother, Jack, wrecked it trying to street race on icy roads at night. John continues to hold somewhat of a grudge against Jack for that to this day, amongst other things. Less than a year later, their father was T-boned and killed instantly by a drunk driver as he was coming home from work.
Their father's death had an immense effect on the family. John's mother was distant and became obsessive with her work, staying for overtime nearly every day. Without their mother around to console the boys, Jack could pretty much do what he wanted, and John watched as Jack turned from his normal dumb self into a sort of monster that him and his younger brother, Jerry learned to fear. Jack never bothered graduating highschool, and while he couldn't be bothered to go back, he was somewhat ashamed of himself for it, and combined with their father's death still fresh in their heads, Jack was pretty violent. John managed to graduate highschool, but he was pretty shaken up about his home life. Once he found out that Jerry had been accepted for a scholarship at the University of Liberty, John let himself leave North Yankton to start his own life.
John packed his belongings into his car and drove across the country to a place where it's consistently sunny and it never snows: Vice City. He found an apartment for himself and got a steady job as a delivery driver for AlphaMail. He eventually saved up and purchased an off-lease Ruiner from the local Imponte dealer. John made face to face contact with people all day long, but one day, after several hours of schlepping heavy packages during record heart, his arms gave out on one of his last deliveries of the day and dropped a poorly-secured box of cosmetics, spilling them all over the recipient. As he helped clean up the mess, the two conversed for a bit and wound up going on a date that weekend.
John liked Stacy quite a bit, and the two married after eight months of dating. They bought a small house in a borderline ghetto-y area, and had their first daughter, Candice, soon after. Because of their modest income, John had to sell the Ruiner and purchased a well-used Bobcat. Within a week of purchasing the truck, John was promoted at work and was now the assistant to the manager. Less than two years after Candice was born, there was Michelle, and then Carter even sooner after that. One day after work, John's manager approached him and cut him an interesting deal. AlphaMail was experiencing record losses at the time, and his manager reasoned that the both of them should get out before layoffs were bound to happen, albeit with a bit of a twist. That twist was that his manager had already embezzled over a hundred thousand dollars from the company over a period of months, and was planning to take three hundred thousand by the end of the year. The two would split that three hundred thousand and get lost.
For John, the deal worked; he received the last of his cash in December of 1999 and placed the house for sale. They were living in Mirror Park in Los Santos less than a month later. All was well: John found work with another delivery company as a manager, he had a brand new Vapid Contender, their house was nice and their final daughter, Sarah, was born in 2002. Things were going good, until John received a call from his former manager's lawyer: the manager was facing stiff prison charges for his embezzlement. John had to fly back to Vice City immediately and for the next month, went to court almost daily. Because he himself didn't actually take the money, John managed to walk free, but he had to return the money he had received, obviously.
It was certainly better than prison, but for John's family, whom had grown accustomed to their comfortable lifestyle, it was a bit of a culture shock. They placed their two story house in Mirror Park for sale and moved to a house of questionable integrity in El Burro Heights. Because of his connections to the embezzlement, John was fired from his job and had to find something else, and fast. Because this was El Burro Heights, crime was prevalent, and John found some interesting work with his neighbors doing minor drug-related things. John didn't really like transporting drugs, but he liked the money, and he discovered that he enjoyed the drugs themselves.
Somehow, John managed to find a hum-drum middle management office job, and the money started pouring in once again. The house in El Burro Heights was sold for a nice chunk of change, thanks to it being the middle of the real estate boom of the 2000s. The Contender was traded for a Bison, and the family moved back into a massively overpriced house in a new development in Mirror Park. John's company ventured into real estate development, asking him to work for their new division as a regional manager. John accepted it, as well as the increased pay and benefits and bought himself...another Bison, but this time it was top of the line.
Ever since then, life has been more or less the same. John's kids have for the most part stayed out of trouble, though Candice likes to party and Michelle has began to act out somewhat. Carter enjoys sports and mostly avoids conflicts, though he tends to brawl with his older sisters. Sarah is largely ignored by her older siblings and enjoys intellectual activities, making her hard to relate to from the family's perspective. Stacey stays at home and enjoys spending money, as well as discovering new health foods and yoga. Having to deal with unruly contractors at work and four kids at home is stressful for John, and as such his favorite activities include drinking, smoking illegal substances occasionally (unbeknownst to the rest of the family), driving fast and sitting on the couch. John is pretty satisfied with is life at this point.
Personality (Angry, depressed, obsessive, etc): Around regular folks, John is mild-mannered and generally nice and sociable. At work, however, he can be a douchebag, but he feels it's required when working with contractors who sometimes refuse to abide by your orders or speak broken English. John isn't necessarily an angry person, but the stresses of his daily life can lead to him acting out at times. Usually, he's in a decent mood and won't mess with you if you don't mess with him. Because of his past vices, he feels that he can't necessarily judge people for wrongdoings, which has made him relate to criminals eerily well at times.
