Quote from GT1 Starter Pack thread:

1) Download the file into your computer.
2) Unzip the file (you have several programs around the web that can do this job, look for winrar or winzip).
3) After you unzip, you should end up with a folder named PS3.
4) Plug in a pen drive (or even a PSP) and just copy the very same PS3 folder that you just unziped into the pen drive, even if it asks you if you wan to overwrite, say yes.

Now, your half way there!

5) Unplug the pen drive from the computer, and plug it in your PS3.
6) Go to [Game], and scroll up until you reach [Memory Card].
7) From there, you can select the pen drive, and copy the save file to your PS3, into a memory card that you have already created.
8) Then just start the game! Make sure that the save file you just got is in the correct memory card, and that the memory card is "inserted"*.

*"Inserted" it's a virtual meaning, your not actually inserting anything, just selecting the option insert.

In the end, you should en up with the following tree folder in your pen drive:
PS3 - EXPORT
Inside the EXPORT folder relays all your PSone and PS2 save data files.

Thanks for the GT2 starter pack, just need to find a way to get the save on a PS2 memory card for PS2 PAL play (because my PS3 is NTSCJ).

I would really appreciate a GT4 PAL starter pack if anyone has one. :)

Hi,

Allow me to present you the (PAL) GT2 Starter pack for PS3 Virtual memorycard.

-All licences golden
-6 golden licence prize cars
-game progress 0.00% completed
-10.000Cr

Here's link to my (PAL) GT1 Starter pack in case you would need one.

Here's a MaxDrive , (PAL) GT3 Starter pack for PS2

The idea is that you can start right away with all licences and a few cars to play with.
You can also get these "licence prize cars" to your own save just by trading them from this save file.

I started doing these licence tests May 8th and finished May 15th 2009 .
It took me just 2 days to do licences from B to IA golden , but the S licence took the next 5 days.

When I had finished I realised how long time it had actually taken to complete the licences and
I desided to put the game save file here so that others could get started a little easyer.

And here it is:

MadMax86, is there any way I could be able to get your starter saves converted to NTSC-U?
I have recently gone back to GT1-4 and the only NTSC-U Starter game save I was able to find was for GT4.

Unfortunatedly I have no means to convert gamesaves.

Thanks MadMax,

I was hoping that maybe Famine would see my post and give me a helping hand.
It would be great to finally be able to start a game fresh with all gold licenses and the prize cars for once in my life.:sly:

HI. I am new to this forum. I dl the zip and follow all the directions and when i try to play the game it gave me an error. I have PS3 ntsc 01 firmware 4.0 if anyone could help me it would be greatly appreciated.

I belive the issue is , that the save file is PAL and your PS3 and copy of the game is NTSC.

Unfortunatedly the gamesave won't work with different region copy of the game.

Thank you for the fast reply. Do you happen to know if any one has the NTSC version.

Another question.

When I play the GT2 on my ps3 and I win first place in the race I get a silver trophy instead of a gold trophy. If you have any ideas why this is happening please let me know it would be very helpful. Thank you once again.

Beautiful! Thank you so much for this!

See thing is, I've done the licence tests so many times, plus I was starting a new gamesave on my PS3, so obviously couldn't use the gamesave on my PS1 memory card. Unless I'm being really nooby and there's a gizmo for plugging them into a PS3?

Anyway, having a savefile that literally just completed the licence tests AND NOTHING ELSE is absolutely perfect for me. Gets me going right away. AND THEN...I notice that one of the cars included in the starter pack is the Toyota GT-One Race Car...my favourite car in the game, and one I don't think I've EVER owned in all my years of playing! Thanks so much man! Gonna have a blast for a bit :D

There is a gizmo to plug PS1 memory cars into PS3, i just do not know if it works, but i've seen on ebay original Sony gizmo for that, so i assume it works :))
I have a gizmo to plug Dual Shock 2 into PS3 and that works well (not for DS1 from PS1 though.)

Considering I lost my GT2 save with all golds on B, A and IC with silvers and golds on the remaining licenses i am very grateful this file exists. I absolutely pulled my hair out over the Z28 license in IC (with walls version) that the very thought of doing it again after i lost my game was just unfathomable.

I lost my GT1 game too but I can gold IA easy for some reason and B is easy except that godamn Del Sol at Trial Mountain hairpin (B3?). I have never fully golded A :( i can't gold black Mazda RX-7 or any of the Supra tests.

Yes I got that too. Thank you for putting them up. Because of this pack I'll be happy to start my games again, transfer the cars in my garage and eventually work towards the golds again when I feel like it. The biggest annoyance from losing my GT2 games was that the last things I needed to do (apart from golding IB, IA and S) was those damn manufacturer event races. I had done heaps of those and my game was at seventy something per cent.

I'm gobsmacked it took you a week to Gold all of GT2 MadMax, didn't you lose your mind over that Z28 one in IC? Or the S license?
