The browser is faster than it was before 1.8 . Not slow as crap for me and it has been updated sicne 1.70. Pages load faster when using the back button too. These things i notice since i do use my ps3 for web browsing.

I said "slow and crap", not "slow as crap". ;)

I do agree it's speeding up, but it's not as fast as, say, Firefox or Safari or any modern PC web browser. It takes much longer to load pages with many images on it. And in general it's just slower, unless you're using something simple like Google all the time.

Anyway, the PSP 3.5 update is out... and it turns out you can stream content from your PC to your PSP anywhere in the world, though it's a complicated process. PC > PS3 > Internets > PSP.

Subtle distinction there...

I've been pretty disappointed by the crapness of the browser - and for some annoying reason it is still pretty flaky - it may be getting 'quicker', but it still drops out alot for no apparent reason...

Also, can you turn off the notification of whether or not your 'Friends' are online?? That's pretty distracting, esp. when you're on a hotlap in F1:CE and get "PZF_ is now online" followed shortly after by "PZF_ is now offline", followed by "PZF_ is now online" again, followed by... you get the idea.... :P

While not as bad as some others, it helps to turn on an Exaggeration Filter when reading some of Duck's posts. ;)

Yes.

Settings > System Settings > Notification Messages

no more missed apexs for me  ... Damn, no more excuses either :ouch:
:D

BTW: Sony has always been very good at updating the online PS3 manual at the same time as they release system updates, but the current version of the online manual is still for 1.7 - very odd.

Now that is impressive, once one sets it up.

Well, you can connect your iPod to the PS3, and you can copy your music from it to your system, but its file structure isn't recognized.

Oh rite, I see, So it sees the iPod hidden music folder, I guess it can't copy protected files though, Thanks 👍

It would probably be better if you could get iTunes using its Wi Fi streaming setup called Air Tunes to work with PS3..... has anyone tried that?

Usually Air Tunes sends to a Wi Fi reciever (like the Airport) and then connects direct to speakers but I wonder if it can just send it to the PS3 and stream it from there..... Would be interesting to try but I think you probably need the Airport... hmmm, Guess il have to use WMP to stream..
