PS3->Video card->Monitor?

I am running my component cables from my PS3 to my video card via s-video/TV adapter to a Ati HD 3850. The video card is also hooked up to my monitor via DVI input.

Is there any way for the video card to send the PS3 video data to my monitor or would I have to hook up the PS3 directly to my monitor? (no current HDMI input)

You would have to hook it up directly. Most video cards cannot double as capture cards, which is essentially what you want. Besides, hooking it up directly would yield better picture quality than running it through S-Video.

Well I didn't want to buy the cable just yet since I am going to eventually get a much better monitor...I just wanted to see if I could do it like described above but thank you.
