Got a question. What do im looking for if wanna make gt5 video. What should a bought and the difference between them.
Thx and see ya drifting with nismo_team

Video capture card, Flip Phone, HDPVR(^)
Video Capture card is a external ( sometimes internal) accessory that you plug in via USB between the System and Computer
Flip Phone, it could be a basic camera phone that you could record replays and edit them on your computer
HDPVR, IMO is probably the best equipment that you should use if you want to do HD quality Audio and Video. It hooks up between the Console and Computer. It probably comes with a editing program or viewing program.

Hmmmm, i think when im finally used to wheel drifting im going to get myself one of them... Can you recommend any?
I dont want a cheap one but i also dont want to be spending loads... sort of a mid range one :)

:dopey:

There's no mid-range one. The low ones are the composite ones which are 10-50$ they aren't any different, there just more expensive cause it says it HD but can't read HD cables.

The good ones are the hd pvr's those are about 180$ It's pricey, but there's not much of a choice. Either it's a shoddy composite capture card, or a pricey hd pvr .

Unfortunately there's nothing mid range so to speak, only cheap end things like dazzle and USB recorders and then you have your hauppauges and BlackMagic pvrs.

If you got money, buy a hauppage HD PVR. If your broke, get a 15 dollar capture card, keep in mind. If your going to be making video, you might want to download a video editing software, get sony vegas pro 11 trial and whenever it runs out, just re-install it.

Yeaa might get thew HD PVR... in £££ not $$$ :P
Ahhh no need to worry about re installing it... Serials are easy to bypass ;)
Thanks

I have the HD PVR Gaming Edition. For me it felt like the easiest one to hook up since it comes with a PS3 cable.

The editing program that comes with it is crap though. You'd better download a keygen for Sony Vegas or any other editing software. You can find good keygen guides on youtube.

Anyone know how good or bad it really is, cause I was looking at those last night

1) Doesn't work with Windows 7.
2) Instructions are written badly.
3) Needs certain cables it seems.

Got it for Christmas, tried to get it to work, failed, haven't touched it since.

HDPVRs are expensive but really do not get an EasyCap. The option in the middle of the price area is the Roxio Game Capture, don't necessarily know about it though...

One thing about the HD PVR is that it records High Definition but it makes the video look bland. Your videos look alot richer on the tv than on the video preview on your HD PVR. So you got to use plug-ins on vegas (unless you have some other editing software) to spice it up which will probably add on another 99$ (unless you use a keygen which is stealing and is wrong).

- Just a word of advice before buying.

Just one note, if you get the roxio DON'T use the capture software that comes with it, because it has heavy compression which makes the files very choppy and unwatchable unless you have a very high-end PC.

Download VirtualDub (freeware) to record your replays and mess about with the render settings until it looks good. There are guides on youtube for vDub so don't think you can't just do a quick search if you're confused.

Yeah, you can record anything you want as long as it is through your PS3 as far as I know. Atleast thats the case with my HD PVR. But keep in mind that the longer you record in HD, the bigger the file size is going to get.

Ok but it record trow the card or your computer? Cause if it on the comput there no problem

The PVR will save it on your PC but as he noted, the longer the file the bigger the size. Please, don't double post and edit your last to make it into readable english

Another thing I could've added to my previous post is that if the file sizes gets too big, the editing software might not be able to view the clip, and it might even freeze or crash.
