There's still a few familiar faces missing. They are, like everyone, welcome here but I think they wanted more of a championship structure. If you can think of anyone to tag in here feel free. Only 3 spots left but even if they do get filled I'm not expecting all 16 to turn up. Reserves will most likely be needed.

We've got enough people to have a good time though, we can always add some AI's to fill it out as well. Even if they are vindictive bastard rammers.
 
Your right there's more than enough already to have a good race. With the racing set up the way it is even if there's only 8 on at any one time we will still have some good close racing. I am hopeful that the numbers don't drop into single digits however.

Filling up the gaps with AI would be a good idea if they worked correctly. To many end up flying around the place wrecking people's races.

It does make it quite amusing though, @Spooky Wooky and I did a race round Monza with the guys from Crap with a load of AI in the cosworth and it was mayhem.

Not too keen on these races turning into mayhem! It will be bad enough if one of the random weather slots decides to become thunderstorm! :nervous:

But that's fun! When the weather gets silly the racing gets interesting :)

Also @Birkster, sorry for running off. I was struggling to concentrate cause I'm tired, the formula A's are a handful even when you're awake!
 
@Kkj10 when are you going to start working out the cars/tracks for the Sunday after next?

It would be nice to do some of the lower tier open wheel (gulf/FC) and the LMP2's if you haven't got everything worked out yet.
 
OP updated. Changes highlighted in bold as follows,

All race distances reduced by one lap. This is to mostly due to the forced 3 minute timer at the end of each race. The idea is to keep the races going every half hour.

It looks like the time of day is reset after each race instead of being carried over. If this is the case the time of day will be manually set forward 1 hour at the end of every second race. It will remain untouched for the first trial run on the 26th.

I will worry about next time after the official race night is over. At the moment official SNL nights will be every other week. We can do both of those ideas. I think the only car we will steer clear off will be FA cars really. Everybody who wants to can choose a specfic car/track at some point 👍

Thunderstorms can make things interesting :)

I did have a play around with the FA and although it loses a bit on the straights setting the rear aero to around 10 and upping the LSD acceleration lock makes it a hell of a lot easier to drive! Had to do it for that race yesterday.

Reminder for SNL trial tonight. Lobby will open at around 6.40pm UK time. Qualifying for the first race will start promptly at 7pm. I will put up a warm up period on for those who join before 7.

Invites will be sent out to the 15 + 1 reserve. Anyone is welcome to invite anyone on the list in the OP only. If you have friends that wish to join send me a PSN first vouching for them. If they then want to regularly participate they must sign up here.
 
So first run of races all done. Turnout was good for an unofficial race night and all the racing was clean, fair and fun from my point of view. Thanks to all that showed up and help make it a success!

The weather seems to be a slight issue not being as random as the name suggests. May increase the progression to x3 or x4 to see if that helps. Also time didn't seem to progress as I expected. It was hard to tell given the rain, heavy fog, rain, fog & thunderstorm weather. Will leave it as it is for now until I know for sure.

To those who invited friends,

Please, please, please give me their names prior to inviting. I only got two names given to me but there was at least half a dozen players in the lobby that weren't on the list. If you invite a friend make sure they know it's an SNL lobby and not to invite others. Only those on the list in the OP should invite people into the lobby. Please also keep chat to a minimum during a race as it can get quite distracting. I was also called out over the game chat for punting someone off the track, they later apologised privately after they realised it was their fault. So please don't make calls like that during a race. Any incidents should be reported to me privately with video evidence of you can't sort it amongst yourselves first.

Let's all look forward to the first official night this Saturday. Tonight proved the car/track combos worked well to keep the racing close and above all fun. Will upload a few of my highlights either tomorrow or Tuesday.

Yup I also agree on all of the above, no problems here, as Philly is banned from GTPlanet he will have to voice his opinions and ideas on the PSN thread.
Damn shame about my wheel in the first race, so missed that one. Second race couldn't see a bloomin thing lol too foggy and rainy. And my third race I was happy with really enjoyed that one (Monza, Sierra cozzy) can't even remember where I came 6th, I think, good games fellas
Missed the rest as the wifey needed her fix of HUMANS lol
 
@Mr SkyyJuice, the cosworths around monza were great. Really needed TC given the weather. Just ask spooky how his real assist settings worked out! :lol: I personally won that race thanks to some quick thinking that got me past 3 cars in one corner. Not to brag or anything :D The ginetta juniors round spa were another combo that seemed to go well with everyone.

@Spooky Wooky, you will need to pray to the random weather gods :bowdown:
 
Thanks, but I didn't actually do very much. Just added the clips to the share factory and it did all the work including the transitions. Will try and learn it a bit more so I can add a short description at the beginning of each highlight. Also couldn't figure out how to trim the videos in the share factory so just did it the old fashioned way.

But if a midleading name share factory because you can't share videos with it :lol:. You create them with it then upload them the usual way. Spent half an hour last night figuring that one out! :irked:
 
If your low on numbers on the night I've can give you a list of names of a few other guys I race with. These two as example @viper_psj & @Sad_shooter both quick guys. :gtpflag::gtplanet:
 
Will likely be some no shows on the night but I'm hoping at least 10 turn up for the first race. I think we will need to wait until qualifying is underway or even after the first race before inviting friends, give the sign up's a chance to join. Will need to be mindful of disconnects too if the lobby is full and someone jumps in.

Everyone except aliens and people who chase me the entire race ;) are welcome :lol:
