They had to make a site for that?

They didn't have to. The excellent writers behind it created it to silence people like you.

Erm... so I'll put one or two games on a stupid memory stick?

If you can only fit one or two games on your stupid memory stick, I'll go ahead and say I don't think it's the memory stick that's stupid.

DWA
or I'll buy a $200 4gb hd that burns up more batt life?

:sly: What a stupid statement. The Datel 4GB HD comes with a better than standard PSP battery.

DWA
ehh... Either way, what games are there again?

To be honest, the thing about ports seems kinda fake. Everything else looks pretty true, though.

I know the person who wrote that (semi) personally. He's an excellent writer and everything is true to the best of his knowledge.

But I don't write that stuff. Just host it for him.

I hate proprietary crap, I don't use the memory stick for anything else, wtf would I buy an over priced one just for the PSP? lame...

Because the PSP isn't big enough and oh yeah... 2 more game. whoopie...!

Yeah, because there is NO other product on the market that can make use of MS Pro Duo's...please.

Um. What?

You're not very bright if you think you can only put 4 backups onto on a 4GB stick. Do some research before you spout out your BS.

Oh, I'm sure it is, in fact, true (maybe the percentages will be off, but the point will be the same). It just seems wrong to me without bothering to look it up.

This has gone from the PSP redesign thread to some stupid debate. Bugger off DWA, leave us, everyone is entitled to an opinion, but you're just taking it too far. Take your silly debate somewhere else and leave us in peace.

Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops and Metal Slug Anthology are awesome PSP games.

Hmm reasons to own a psp now?

3.51 custom FW

Play legal backups of psp games.
Play legal backups of PS1 games
Classic gaming on the go with emulators from Atari to PSone

And many other reasons. But the biggest reason is its portable.

I'm getting the new PSP if the screen is 8ms or less.

I forgot to add this to the feature list:
  • Better battery – lasts longer, 'nuff said.
  • Faster loading – UMD games now supposedly load faster.
  • Built-in 64MB Memory – self explanatory.

The 64MB memory isn't usable to store stuff. It's RAM, IIRC.

so how does the video out work? is it the same Multi AV that all the home consoles use or is it something you need to buy specific cables for?

Here's some details about the battery life, apparently it's not what it seems to be:

There appears to be some confusion about the PSP Lite's battery life. The system can go up to 8-10 hours ... but only if it's using the battery from the regular PSP. What?

The upcoming PSP Lite will include a smaller battery for the smaller system. The battery that's included with the system will run for about 5 hours while gaming. However, if you have the battery from your original PSP, you'll be able to get 8-10 hours. The problem with this solution? The battery will bulge out of the system. Sony will offer a new backplate for those interested in adding the old battery to the new system.

figures about the battery life:grumpy: still, 5 hours is an improvement and the old batteries are at a reasonable price so at least you have a choice. As far as the 64mb of memory actually I thought that was a small amount of internal memory to use for game saves and what not

I'd imagine a normal A/V out would take up too much space. Probably a proprietary plug.
I imagine it will be like my wife's Sony portable DVD player. The A/V in/out (it works for both) looks like two mini headphone jacks, one for video (yellow) and one for audio (white). The audio then splits in to the red and white composite and the video becomes the yellow composite. When hooked up to a standard television I can't tell a difference in the quality from regular composite cables.

Here's an image:

And a little Googling tells me that you can find a 6 foot mini to A/V cable for as cheap as $10.

Sony must clear up the battery situation. Why would they say better battery life during the E3 press conference if this is true?

We have a portable DVD player with the same cables so you can use dual screens (the video quality is trash on the second screen, though, so we never use it), and while that would work in theory, that is not a component hookup (as you said). And I can't see Sony would sell the PSP with 4 plug holes sticking out of it, so I still say it will be a proprietary piece.

I am so getting one of these, the US basic pack price is only $200AU, when the original one came out, it was $400AU. :)

It would probably come with the value pack, i'd imagine it would be something similar to the ps/ ps2 cable:
