Last I heard you were in it for fun.

In any case, I'll update it when I get my next break.

Okay thanks 👍

That is true, but you never know what could happen in the final 3 races (top 7 myseriously vanish from the leaderboard :sly:)..

Nah, I just want to make sure Cicua gets his team points ;)

Just fixed everything, but your finishes wouldn't have earned team points anyway. Only 1st through 8th place finishes earn points. ;)

Spa will be interesting. Back in pre-season, I was using weak gearing, so I wonder how much I'll pick up.

Time to find out:

Jason, when will you make the final call for Q/Race settings? Thought I'd ask early. 👍

I'm back slootes. Wardez tried to kill me. I've been stuck in bed for the past four days so it's time to rage.

Everyone get to Spa, now! :)

Welcome back Bro'! Was just talking about you yesterday ;)

Quick Monza race report.

Made a good start from P2 and was able to pull alongside Rich as we hit the braking zone for turn 1, however I managed to completely miss my spot and was concerned I was going to run into the wall and take damage. Luckily I was able to pull up just short and get it turned over the green concrete and re-join the track safely and just about still in 2nd, close enough to Rich to get his draft! Phew!! Managed to get by into 1st early on, when I saw Rich miss his braking spot for turn 1 and not be as lucky as I was. He escaped damage, but lost about 10s, dropping back into the field. I had about a 2-3s lead over Aliens and Jeff at this point and pushed to try and increase that with the track getting ever so slightly damper each lap. One mistake saw me take to the sand and lose about 2s, but fortunately not enough to allow my pursuers to catch my draft. Phew again! :D

Turned in some solid laps from here with pace still a touch quicker than full wets at 100% surface water, so planned to pit at lap 10, when the track would've been about 50%. However, I noticed Rich pitted at the end of 7, but I felt that my 7s lead over him was safe even if I pitted at the end of lap 9. Not quite so! lol I exited pit lane with Rich about 2s back, but I struggled to adjust to the new found grip and Rich was on my bumper by the end of the lap and the race began! Was kicking myself a bit at this point, but figured I had 2 lap fresher tyres and hoped this would help in the latter part of the race. Lost count how many passes we put on each other, but it was some fun racing! At the same time Rich saw me torpedo into the sand, I saw him do exactly the same on my screen and thought I'd been gifted the chance to get clear (Damn GT5 servers), but next thing I know, he's right back behind me ;) So after 14 laps of great, clean racing we were still nose to tail, but I could see Rich struggling with wheelspin. Eventually on Lap 24, I was able to gap him enough due to my slightly fresher rubber, which I held to the chequered flag!!

Was a great race and I was fortunate enough to come away with some big points, creeping me ever closer to Rich in the Championship race! Should be an exiting finish to the season!! 👍

The initial understeer from the Miata is infuriating. If I want anything better than an 1:31.5xx, I'll have to fix it, especially entering Pouhon.

Also, I really need to figure out why my braking distances is worse than just about everyone else. It really shows on this track. :ouch:

I'm gonna try no ABS, 'cause braking distance is what totally kills me at Spa for some reason. I'm desperate. But god damn, I hate Spa anyway.

Out of the question for me. My pedal's not bungee corded.

I think my footwork's a little too quick. Often, I start touching the brakes an instant after lifting off the gas, but I think the car's not properly settled by then. When I wait even a fraction of a second to touch the brakes, the distance is more predictable.

You don't hate it, just raced on it too much. :)

I just don't care for it, it's pretty fun in a race with lots of cars 'cause it's wide, but running laps alone on it, I dread. Just too wide and whatever it is about the character of the track, it does NOT suit my driving approach at all so I have to break myself everytime just to find pace.

I appreciate watching real life series go there (F1's always an epic time in Belgium) though, just not driving it in sims really.

Ok, second time I've heard you guys talk about a bungee cord. How do you do it? How effective is it? Does it try to replicate the effect of a load cell?

Hey Joe, if you have the G27, you don't need the bungee cord. I believe it's for the DFGT wheel users as it basically gives the pedal some resistance like the spring does on the G27 pedals.

I actually really like Spa, however I prefer it in a slightly more powerful car than our Roadsters. Probably won't put many laps in though until we get the official weather forecast ;)

Thanks, dudes. I really wish I wouldn't have missed the last two races but coming back to Spa is OK by me. Unlike Wardez, I love this track!

I ran some laps last night with outlaw, dofo, litchi and litchi's friend and was able to run a back to back 31.5, 31.4 with dirty oil and only 262hp. I know the weather report isn't in yet but if it stays dry I am hoping to get down to 31.0s. I know I am losing two tenths in both S2 & S3 so that should put me pretty close.

Hopefully I can help Royal Purple Motorsport close the gap to the top of the charts and if I can steal a win from Welsh & Outlaw in the process then hurray.

I'm going to play around with the weather settings tonight and make a decision in the morning.

Qualify dry, start dry, with a small chance of rain could be fun. (it's spa so there's always chance of rain ;) )

Bernie Ecclestone regarding Susie Wolff being named a development driver for Williams F1:

"If Susie is as quick in a car as she looks good out of a car then she will be a massive asset to any team and on top of that she is very intelligent. I am really looking forward to having her in Formula One."
