Schedule

Races will take place every Sunday afternoon; the race room will be opened at 15:00 UTC/GMT (11:00 Eastern/16:00 BST) with a scheduled green flag time of 15:30 UTC/GMT although if all drivers are present prior to this time the race may begin. It is requested that all competitors are in the room by 15:15 GMT/UTC for pre race inspection.

If there are 16 or fewer qualifiers, all will race in one room. If there are more, we'll split the DP class down the middle with the top half racing in D1 and the bottom in D2; then we'll try and fill D1 with the top GT qualifiers unless that would mean the D2 race would have too few cars, in which case more GT cars would be put into D2 resulting in more equal room sizes.

Qualifying Procedure

Live-week long qualifying, one out lap, two timed laps, one chance. All qualifying will be done in public rooms, but all drivers admitted into the series will be allowed to qualify each other, effectively making this an all steward participatory. All times will be submitted to and collected on a related website interface created by PURE members.

Each driver will qualify in race mode. The host will give the go ahead to join track after doing two car checks. A maximum of four drivers can qualify at the same time but only if there are four more drivers in the racing lobby able to spectate the session and confirm the laps as clean. These other drivers do not need to be stewards themselves. The race will be set to 4 laps.
All stewards are required to save the replay.

Lap 1 is your warm up, Lap 2 and 3 are your 2 flyers, lap 4 is your "cool down." The 4th lap is an extension to give the steward time to note the data.You must always finish the 4th lap if not stated otherwise by the steward.The 4th lap is also there if more than 1 car is qualifying at the same time (Start with 15 seconds between drivers). This is because, technically, the last driver in a session can be more than 180 seconds behind (which is the maximum end race timer setting), so to make sure even the last driver is able to finish his 2nd flying lap, the 4th lap is there.

If a lap is dirty a standard penalty of 5% of the dirty lap's time will be added onto it to make the time official. A clean lap will always be made the official time over a dirty lap even if the dirty lap with the penalty added is still faster.
A qualifying session can under no circumstance be restarted. You'll get one shot, and one shot only.

Disconnection During Qualifying

You're allowed to reconnect and start from where you left off (must be confirmed by the observing steward) but the lap that you disconnected on will count as "dirty" with no registered lap time.
So if you disconnect during your warm up lap, all is good, just reconnect and restart your session.If you disconnect during your first flying lap (Lap: 2), that lap is dirty, and you may reconnect, but this time, only your second flying lap (Lap: 3) will count.If you disconnect during you second flying lap (Lap: 3), your first flyer will be your time. No need to restart the session since your last flyer, the one you disconnected on in this case, is dirty with no registered lap time.

If the person watching your lap, if it's just the two of you for example, disconnects for some reason this automatically disqualifies the session unless you save and upload the replay and the host watching confirms that the laps in the replay was indeed the session he was watching. Otherwise you must re-attempt your qualifying.

Pre-Race Inspection

I will call the drivers of each individual machine to go to track one by one in the order below to perform pre-race inspection, you must stay on track until I tell you otherwise or you are booted off by the regulation checks. Do not enter your settings page at any point during inspection, such as after the regulation changes boot you from track, else you will have to undergo a second inspection. Doing this more than once will result in disqualification.

Please stay off the text chat during all inspection procedures.

1 - PP limit set to 570, Audi R8 LMS to track.
2 - PP limit set to 573, BMW M3 GTR to track.
3 - PP limit set to 574, Ferrari 458 to track.
4 - PP limit set to 575, Mazda RX-8 LM to track.
5 - PP limit set to 579, Chevrolet Corvette Z06 RM to track.
6 - PP limit set to 582, Chevrolet Camaro SS RM to track.
7 - PP limit set to 624, Pagani Zonda R to track.

This procedure will be repeated for horsepower and weight if I deem it necessary, therefore you should make sure your specs are correct in case I do so.

Formation Lap

- Pole sitter will be contacted on what side of the track they would prefer to start from (right or left). This detail will be conveyed to all drivers in the room via text chat.

- Even number qualifiers will always be on the second place cars lane. Odd number qualifiers will be in the pole sitters lane on the other side.

- Once the GT5 race countdown has completed and the race event has begun all drivers must hold position and wait for confirmation from the host to proceed. Use your handbrakes, sit silently, report any suspicious latency between cars or lag jolting/skipping.

- After the host has given the go ahead all DP class drivers will begin to slowly form up in qualifying order while GT cars hold still at the start line. The leader must act as herder, they must not pre-maturely advance from the group, it is their job to keep the pace slow enough until all cars are in position then proceed to formation speed which is an even pace at 100 kmh / 62 mph.

- GT car pole sitter will hold until the DP group is past the first corner, at this time the GT field may form up and begin their way up to pace speed.

- The GT field leader must keep a gap of at least 20 seconds behind the leader of the DP field (use the split times to help gauge distance).

- The DP leader must wait for the grid to line up behind them completely on the start straight as shown below, before starting the race by applying full throttle at the pre-determined track race starting mark (may not always be the regular start/finish line).

- No weaving is allowed during formation lap and you must not overlap the car ahead of you.

- Do not pass any car until you're past the point the pole sitter started the race at.

- Jump starters will be given warnings or penalties depending on severity.

- If a driver is damaged on formation then the damaged driver must communicate this through text chat and continue at a reasonable speed to the pit area. The other cars will continue on as normal and the damaged car(s) can join the group as they come around for their first lap. At this point the formation lap will continue on for a second lap after which the race will begin. If it happens once more, the same contingency will be applied and a third formation lap will go on. After this, no more "formation restarts" will be acceptable and the affected drivers must either retire or start far behind the group. Drivers experiencing extreme lag will be asked to leave so the other drivers can race.

- If, for any reason, a driver misses the formation start and stays behind still on the track the race will not go on, it must be restarted to eliminate the obstacle.

Chequered Flag Procedure

- After the timer passes the scheduled end of the race (90 minutes for most rounds, 2 hours at Indy, Nurburgring and Laguna; 2 hours & 24 minutes at Daytona) the "white" flag will be waved.

- The first time the overall race leader (from the DP class) passes the finish line after the allotted time is up the checkered flag is waved and the leader's race is over. I.e. the first lap completed after 2.4 hours at Daytona completes the leaders race. After passing the start/finish line the leader should immediately slow to 50 MPH and announce the checkered flag (press start and type "Checkered Flag"). No car should pass him at any time going forward. Any close finishes at the line will be reviewed with replay for the official results. Note: if in doubt, finish your lap and the results will be reviewed.

- After the checkered flag is announced all drivers should complete their current lap and their race is finished when they next pass the finish line. They should line up behind the train of cars that have already finished moving at 50 MPH. When the last car passes the start/finish line we will announce race end, record the results and then allow everyone to exit track and save the replay.

- If you are in the pits beyond the start/finish line when the leader takes the checkered flag you can complete your lap *only* if you can exit pit road before the leader passes the pit exit. You cannot pass the leader on the parade lap.

Mixed Class Etiquette

To best prepare each driver for mixed class racing, always keep a few key things in mind.

Slower class cars have full right to the racing line. They are never obligated to "move over" for an approaching faster class car. In-fact it's favorable for the slower car to hold the usual racing line as if the faster car wasn't even around. This makes the slower car predictable and in effect much much easier for the faster cars to overtake cleanly. When a slower car is in a group of class traffic, faster class cars must be extra careful or face penalties. It is the job of the faster car to overtake without disrupting the lower class race.

Faster class cars must exercise patience in mixed class overtaking situations. It is not the job of the slower class to facilitate overtaking. The faster car must let the slower cars run their track and overtake only when it's most efficient for both parties. When hot on the tail of a slower class car going into the Laguna Seca Corckscrew, chances are that waiting until the last turn to pass will be most beneficial; for example.

When approaching slower class cars in a group of fellow class drivers patience is paramount. The one defense move per lap rule is still in effect, and do not attempt to overtake a slower class car while on pit entry.

Points and Penalties

For our penalty system, we will be following the PURE IPO (Incident Penalty Outline). For more information on this, see here.

Drivers will be scored on a linear scale based on their finishing position in the race. Every car will be included in the classification to assign a base score, irrespective of classing. If a GT car wins an over-all victory they will receive the appropriate recognition on the score sheet. The base score is based on the following matrix:

"A Room" - positions 1-16 following a linear scale from 48 to 18 points seperated by 2 point gaps.
48, 46, 44, 42, 40, 38, 36, 34, 32, 30, 28, 26, 24, 22, 20, 18

"B Room" - positions 17-32 following a linear scale from 16 to 1 point(s) seperated by 1 point gaps.
16, 15, 14, 13, 12, 11, 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1

Once the base scores have been determined "in-class" bonuses will be applied to add graduated value for success. In the top division ("A Room") drivers on the podium in each class will earn a bonus of 6, 4, and 2 points for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd respective. For the lower half of the field ("B Room") the bonus will be reduced to 4, 2, and 1 point(s) for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd respective.

No points will be awarded for qualifying, leading laps or fastest lap. The top two scores from each team will count towards the teams championship. Your lowest finish will be dropped from your points tally.

You must complete 33% of the laps that the DP race winner completes to score points.

I've switched it up with another image instead as it kept going really dark when I resized it; looks pretty sweet still 👍
 
Of course it is man, you just have to sign up using the big button at the top of the OP. You have to create a PURE account but that's just so we can track the stats and standings for the series.
 
I would be interested in running a limited schedule this year with Starworks Motorsports. I will be the white car with blue rims #8. What is the PURE account business? How and where do I sign up? Do I have to?

I may have stolen it from the WRS and reworded it slightly to fit this series *runs* It gets the point across very well though, I agree.

I've pretty much scavenged regulations that I thought were good from other series so we're using WRS' time finish system and CALM's points matrix and etiquette rules, which are excellent so thanks for putting them together 👍

EDIT: We decided not to limit the sign ups so there can be any number of cars in a team mate. Surprising to see everybody going for DP I have to say, normally goes the other way.
 
I was going to run a GT Fluorescence 004 Audi, but then I decided it would be more fun in DP. Though the Audi would match my new shoes and hoodie.
 
I'm unsure of the Camaro's performance with regards to the rest of the field for Daytona, but if Indy is anything to go by....:eek::mischievous:
