MÜLE_9242How do you race with a car that loose? I tried it
in the Cup race after I got it from Kartman and was wrecking in every turn.
LoL I thought it was a lil pushy till tires warned up.

Curious to know whether the upcoming update will affect handling characteristics. Getting the feeling that it will. I might do a quick test tonight.
Never mind. The update's already out. Guess we'll find out soon enough.
Dr_WatsonSuppose I'll get a feel for the patch when I do the shakedown practice this week. Not really expecting it to have much effect on stock street cars though. I just hope the "new tire wear" fixes the sound bug. That thing is killing me slowly.
btw, I updated the points standings last night.
This "draft in free run" is going to make qualifying interesting at High Speed Ring.
WardezBut turning it back reloads the track doesn't it? Then the results from q may be gone.
Tim's been tracking the times for every Q session, so I don't really see a difference, at least for this series. But turning it back reloads the track doesn't it? Then the results from q may be gone.
It says so on the description that scrolls at the bottom of the screen. Haven't tested it yet.As long as turning collisions off turns the draft off also, it's an easy fix with manual gridding. You sure collisions being off does that?
However hopefully it's fixed for good and no jumping through hoops.

Early reports are saying it's fixed. (which I tend to believe since they added a layer to the tire sound and changed the wear rates... so it would be silly if they re-coded stuff and left that glitch in there). 👍
I need to do some testing but I was planning on using "race with no collision" as qualifying. This way we get no-draft, no-traffic, and a replay for handing out any infraction points after the fact for corner cuts. So we've got the eye-in-the-sky on quali now, which just wasn't practical in free-run.
From what I hear 'collision-disabled' still adds miles though, so I'm going to have to still keep track of time and have everyone quit-out to make sure we don't spoil the 0-mile engine. But it should still work out well. Only real down-side is that if you don't make it on-track for the beginning of Q you'll miss the whole session.
Great idea man. I didn't even think about the fact that the collision option can be used as a pseudo draft-off switch. Brilliant. Being able to view the replay of "qualifying" and keep a record of all the times through it is a definitely plus as well, besides the other big ones you mentioned. Nothing but positives I can think of for it.
The downside you mentioned makes being in the room on time a lot more important, so good yeah? B)
But there is a contingent that can be made. You can split qualifying into two separate 5 minute qualifying sessions as you've done before but with every one qualifying at the same time (since you can now). All you have to do is back out to record the times before the session's over, then start the next session right away. This way, if someone can't make it in before the first session starts, they can still make the second. And it also has the benefit of providing a second chance for anyone that's disconnected from the first qualifying run. Too much?
Quick question on track boundaries:
If you look up by the guardrail you can see that gray stuff outside white line, is that classified as a rumble strip?
I was doing some testing after 2.08 and was running 1:14.2 in the Aston and 1:13.0 in the Jaguar using them as rumble strips.
It is a really simple track but the Jag was a little tail happy riding the high line.
Sorry I have been absent this season, I just booked work the next two Saturdays so I am going to officially pull out of series. Good luck the rest of the way. 👍
Did some practice today:
Aston - 1:14.057 - Having issues with the last corner. Requires a late-entry, which I don't do well. 4/4 BB atm.
Jaguar - 1:12.687 - Understeer galore followed by sudden loss of rear traction, especially exiting the S. Went to 4/5 which helped somewhat.
M5 - 1:36.312 - As always, Bit-Kurve throws me a curveball as does the last chicane. Still tinkering with the brakes, but think I had 3/4 when I ran that .312
Given the time Travis posted earlier (1:14.2/1:13.0), and what I read in the threads, we do have more grip.my early testing was:
High Speed Ring Rev | DB9 Coupe '06 | S1 | 1:16.033
High Speed Ring | XKR Coupe '10 | S1 | 1:15.087
Nurburgring GP/D | M5 '08 | S2 | 1:37.132
---
So you're absolutely destroying me on HSR.![]()
Unless the tires have that much more grip in 2.08.

If I could only ride the high line all the way for T1 with the Aston. All the times I've tried it, I hit an undulation at the exit, which shoves me right into the wall.
Other than that, I'm ready for the High Speed Lottery.![]()
