Most likely Vette here.
I'm in for the Sunday test race with the Pagani.
I'm already involved in a championship at this time on saturday (and I'm the leader atm 👍) so i can't race in both races.
Most likely Vette here.
I probably have the time and the interest to join these practise races 👍 Would it be ok if a used a different car on each day ? Then I could decide wich I am feeling most comftable in during a race.
Same here, but I'm still testing.
So far, the Zonda feels a little uncontrollable compared to the 'Vette.
At Indy, I ran a best time of 1:26.8 and it took three laps. This is after I tuned the car to make it semi-controllable.
ZR1 ran a 26.4 right off the bat with no tuning. I made some minor suspension adjustments and got a 26.2, and I could easily get into the 25s.
The Zonda, on the other hand, after many laps, cold not best its 26.
At Spa (disclaimer, I'm not very consistent here), Zonda was matching the Corvette's T1, but after that, the Corvette smoked it by over a second, lap after lap, picking up most of its time in T2. I think I ran an 11 flat in the Corvette (avg. 11.25), with the Zonda just barely getting a 12.1 (avg. 13.7), and I was pretty much on the limit of my skills. Again, the Corvette could easily dip into the tens.
My biggest problem with the Zonda is I couldn't get to the gas quick enough without it smoking its tires for a hundred feet. With the Corvette, I could relax and result in much more consistent faster lap times.
I'm not sure if I'm just slow in the Zonda or the ZR1 is a little to fast.
Ok, thanks. Very useful feedback. 👍
I kind of saw that comming, so already have a backup plan..
So if we allow the Zonda R to use full DF (40/65), does it get closer?
My plan C is to add 30 kg to the rear on the Zonda, and jump the Power up to 722.. But we'll see after Plan B is tested.
I'm going to get some time for testing come Friday.
Really appritiate your feedback mate! 👍
Btw: What about the tyre wear?
I think giving the Zonda more downforce would be a great fix. If it get too fast I would say all we need to do is lower the front downforce.
I only did multiple 4 lap stints so I could keep tire wear out of my testing.
But what little tire wear I got it look even between both cars.
Definitely interested and think I can make that time work on weekdays. Can't make it this weekend though.
If we don't get at least 3 more drivers for the Saturday race, we'll shorten the race, and do more of them instead.
Something like 3, 10 lap races or similar. 👍
Should be a lot of fun!
Perfect, but it looks like both grids are filling up nicely. 👍I am ok with that 👍
RACE 1 | INDINANAPOLIS ROAD COURSE | SATURDAY, JUNE 23rd
ROOM NUMBER: 1472-6681-3759-3054-4573
Rules and Procedures:
*Standard OLR rules apply.
*No chat during quali or race if not important for the race to run smoothly.
If you can't see another car, or if another car appears to jump due to lag, that's a good reason to use the chat. Before the race, I'd appritiate if we could keep of the chat as much as possible. It will make it easier for me as a host to get any information out (Voice chat will be disabled).
*Quali:
-I'll reset the track at 16.40 PM GMT.
From here, the track is open for 15 minutes for you to set the best lap possible.
-At 16.55, I'll start the race.
-It's adviced that you enter the room at 16.35 at the very latest.
*Formationlap:
-Once the countdown timer reach zero, DO NOT MOVE!
-Cars will take off 1 by 1 in a slow and steady pace.
-Pole car will act as pace car. He must not exceed 62 mph (100 km/h), and must keep a steady pace.
-The cars can initially roll single file, but a few turns before the startline, form a 2 lane grid.
-Polesitter decides wich side he want, and the rest sort themselves accordingly.
-Once the pole car reach the startline (For Indy, the startline is the "brick yard" as always. At Spa, pole car will pass the standard startline, pass T1, and are free to start the race once he reach to TOTAL sign just prior Eau Rouge), he floors it and the race is "GREEN"!
-No overtaking prior the startline under any curcuimstance.
IMPORTANT NOTE:
If you're not the pole car, make sure you do not floor it until the car ahead of you do.
In other words, DO NOT look at the pole car if you're 3rd or below, just look at the car holding the position ahead of you, and when he goes, so can you.
We use this method to get a good staggered start, where the cars line up nicely.
The race is 175 km, so a steady pace will win the race.. Not a few inches in T1. 👍
