question on P.S.3

So my P.S.3 is almost dead when it switches on nothing appears on the TV. So I was planning on getting a new one which model do you guys think I should get. Or should I just wait for the Ps4 and get that? And will I be able to transfer all my data from the old P.S.3 to the new one?

Data transfer is quite difficult if you can't see anything on the screen

And it depends how much you play or want to play ps3.. it has a lot of great games, and a few are going to be released this year, but ps4 is too.

I would do the display settings, since I know thats what I had to do a few times, from a/v to hdmi, and (I think vice versa)

I tried everything. The thing is it switches on kind of rarely and when it does it hangs and I will have to restart it again.but when I restart out nothing comes on the tv

I recently lost my old fat ps3 to a yellow light of death and replaced it with the 12gb super slim. Not had a single problem with it. Just transferred the old hdd into it and I had an old backup data file on an external hdd. Everything transferred over fine, just took a bit of time.
