Question on the various regulations in this game...

I had a series of questions regarding the regulations.

-When making a lobby, (and IIRC, only Sport Mode has "ranked" multiplayer) what are the parameters one can set for the cars and track? For example, if one can have a race progress via laps vs. time, what's the maximum metric you can set for those? Or, how specific can you get with car regulations? For example, can you effectively replicate the GT League events in the lobby mode, wherein you can select a class (say, N300) and then limit selection to certain models without it being a one-make race?

-In both the Sport Mode daily races, and the FIA-sanctioned races, has tuning ever been a factor? In addition, has the option to purely tweak the power/weigh ratio (without the option to tune gear ratios, suspension, etc.) been available? IIRC, this is how you can get a car from one N-series class into another.

And out of curiosity, could you sound-off on your favorite regulations you've seen in a daily race/FIA race? E.g. a certain car/track combo, or a particular race length, pit stop requirement, etc. I thought it'd be nice to hear favorites rather than that usual message that Tokyo Expressway, Mt. Panorama, and other narrow courses are not a great place to drive in a sizable crowd with a fast class.

1. Iirc, 99 laps and 24 hours are the maximum metrics. You can regulate car class, power, and weight, but you cannot choose specific cars without it being a one-make. However, since its your own lobby, you can set the title to "Specific cars only" or something to that effect, and then tell the people who enter the available cars.

2. Nope, and nope. You can tune back in the beta, and yes that was how higher N class vehicles were entered in lower N class, but now a) Sport mode completely binned the N class races, replacing it with One-Makes, and b) tuning is now locked.

3. Nurb GP, 24h, and Suzuka are my top three :) mainly in Gr. 3 :)

Hopefully we'll get more options in an update or something - at least insofar we can replicate the rules seen in the GT League events, without needing to rely on asking people politely to pick a particular car.

That makes sense. Come to think of it, I'd imagine that not permitting tuning in Sport Mode races *would* be a load off most people's minds, since then it'd be more all about racing skill. But I do think they ought to bring back N-Class races, albeit maybe without the option to fiddle with power/weight. Maybe they're trying to better figure out BoP for the N-series for the time being? Otherwise, I think one-make races could have some interesting setups, especially for Gr.X cars that are seemingly there precisely because they're meant for one-make races, like the Renault RS01. I think we've already seen races with the new formula-styled car, the time attack Isle of Man Impreza, and the karts, but I think there's even further potential with monkeying around with one-make races. Like the Daihatsu VGT, or the Volkswagen bus.

Yeah, I'd be worried that tuning would have too many extra factors to be integrated into Sport Mode, like which tunes are best for certain courses, cars, race lengths, and so on. I could see it being best reserved for lobbies or single-player time trials.

Most of your suggestions at One-Makes have already been done actually :D (I remember we even had the Sambabus for 3 days straight on Race A) quite fun
BoP'ing the N classes though is quite hard, since they do the BoP manually, and not to mention each car can move up and down the classes, that's more than one BoP per car. I'd love it when they pull it off, but it doesn't seem to be the case sadly :(

And I am in full agreement with your forst statement. Lobbies and custom races are currently very limited right now. I'd love the options you listed to be added in the game :)

They need to make power and weight adjustments locked when no tuning is selected. This would stop higher N-Class cars getting into the lower ones.

That only takes care of one issue but would allow for the N-Class race's back in Sport Mode. But without BOP adjustments to all the N-Class it will still be unbalanced and I'm not sure it could ever be perfect.
