what exactly is needed to get a vid from the ps2 to the pc? i dont have a/v outputs on my pc since its a laptop but i do have an output for s-video. should i purchase an s-video cable? thanks in advance.

you need video INPUTS on your computer, not outputs. think about it..you want the video signal to go from OUT of the ps2 INTO your computer. a laptop will more than likely not be able to capture video, because you cannot upgrade its video card. you alternatives are a digital camera or USB device.

the more expensive Geforces have video in....i have a gefore 2 MX with only a video out =P
at least i can watch anime on the REALLY big screen outside =P
my bro's geforce 4 (forgot which one) can do both
i've also heard there are USB video capturing tools u can buy somewhere, but i personally haven't seen them yet

i use a USB device for my videos. you would need an adapter for the rca male that the ps2 uses to use the s-video input. then it would work..but you wouldnt have sound.

i use a Dazzle DVC 80. its a little box you hook up to your computer with USB..it has video, audio, and s-video inputs. the vid quality and resolution isn't that great, but for $45(including shipping) it works pretty well.

heh im not to concerned about sound. i think will try and snag an s-video cable and see if it works. also what program(s) should i use?
