That Aveo reminds me of the modifications you can get for the Asea in GTA V. :P
Also...

And stuff like this is why people are hardly impressed with flames anymore.

Seriously, its like nobody has any imagination.

You know what's really questionable?

Any mods done to cars on reality shows.

Apparently Monster Garage did the convert car to hovercraft thing long before Top Gear did.

EDIT:
Okay, when they put wood paneling on a Ford Taurus in the Christmas Vacation movie, that was for a gag. Though to my surprise, people have been doing to their Ford wagons:

You know, I really have to ask, why do donk owners always decorate their cars with such ludicrous brands? There's this of course, but I've seen ones for Twix, Snickers, Pizza Hut, McDonalds, Spongebob; why?!

Here's a better question, why and how did donk even exists in the first place?

I should be glad this isn't a thing here...

Likely because certain people wanted obscenely oversized wheels but couldn't afford the vehicles that they actually fit on--and it snowballed.

Googled "4 door camaro" with hopes of getting the Car Association thread off of Camaros (:P) when I found this:

Hi-risers originally grew out of the Dirty South subculture, but the trend has spread across the United States. Vehicles customized in the hi-riser style are distinguished by their oversized (even disproportionate)wheels, ranging from 20 inches to 30 inches or more in diameter (largest being 50 inch), as well as fanciful custom paint-jobs and expensive audio equipment. Suspension modifications similar to those employed on lifted pickup trucks are made to give adequate clearance for the large wheels. Often the suspension is modified so the front end sits slightly higher than the rear end, giving the car a swaggering appearance. Because of the exaggerated look gained from installing a lifted suspension and enormous wheels, donks are also known as "hi-risers" or "sky-scrapers."

I know I'm kinda stating the obvious here but donks are no different from any other car subculture involving extensive visual modification; someone who turns their car into a donk is doing it for the same reason as anyone who installs an ostentatious wide bodykit, or absurdly oversized tailpipes, or diamond-studded chrome wheels, or anything like that - they just want their car to look unique. I could start a new subculture called 'Velcrostyling' where you cover your bonnet in velcro (later evolutions would of course graduate to covering every single body panel as well as possibly the interior in velcro), and I wouldn't be doing it for any reason other than because it makes me stand out from your average Joe.

Now to preemptively make the first ever official GTP Velcrostyling thread
