Yes! We just love our rusty four-bangers! Those ginormous holes in the hood of that I-dont-even-recognize-it because its buried in rice must take in a huge amount of water, cooling the engine and oxidizing it so that the rust is mixed with the gas, saving 20 whole mpg! The pearl paint creates glare to prevent the license plates being photgraphed should the car ever reach above 10 mph, which is the fastest the 3 ton limiter (cleverly disguised as a spoiler) will let it do! The chicken wire in the grille are stylish grille inserts that double as devices to catch any stray dogs and filter any snow that may be eaten by the giant intakes, which provide the purpose of engine cooling while doubling as a 63 hp snow shovel! The aftermarket mirrors give mad aero advantage, the covered grille saves stray dogs, while keeping the engine warm in the winter, the reducing in size of headlights protects the part behind the cover from rocks that may crack it, and the huuge chrome rims have to spin less to travel farther, giving a 10mph advantage!! See how 1337 we are?

You're digging yourself into a hole.
And on the attack you made at the Charger Daytona, let's do a photo comparison:
vs.
A rather large and tactical aerodynamic advantage between the two, don't you think. The pop-up headlights being last century? Last I checked, 1970 was last century. And the tire profile? First of all, the car in his avatar is an movie based creation, and is grossly overstylised. And, check this out: before the 80's, all cars (including race cars) were like that.

... Alright, Im going to tell the truth--Im joking.

Seriously, does this line sound serious to you--Those ginormous holes in the hood of that I-dont-even-recognize-it because its buried in rice must take in a huge amount of water, cooling the engine and oxidizing it so that the rust is mixed with the gas, saving 20 whole mpg!?

Or this one--The pearl paint creates glare to prevent the license plates being photgraphed should the car ever reach above 10 mph, which is the fastest the 3 ton limiter (cleverly disguised as a spoiler) will let it do! The chicken wire in the grille are stylish grille inserts that double as devices to catch any stray dogs and filter any snow that may be eaten by the giant intakes, which provide the purpose of engine cooling while doubling as a 63 hp snow shovel! ?

See how 1337 we are??

And has it occured to you that there are no Ladas in U2?

Seriously, I thought it was obvious. That said, I DO like a lot of the cars in this thread. However, I love the Dodge Charger Daytona and most other muscle cars, and would take one over most of the cars here any day. In black, please.

We don't have the strange humour you possess.

Sakiale, these comments of you, stating absurd facts and then saying you're joking are typical of your previous account and are one of the main reasons why that account got banned in the first place. I'd look a bit into your post content and style before making them.

Hmm... Nobody answered that Quiz-question. I was gonna add a picture to answer.

So how many exhaust-tips does a Golf GTI (last generation) have? (Answer is on a different computer)

Believe it or not, this is a Peugeot Coupe 406 in Ferrari 360M clothing. Looks damn good if you ask me. But the question is - why would you want a fake Ferrari? Front wheel drive and four seats doesn't sound particularly authentic. Although that is a pretty svelte 4 seater.

That's actually a very good job. Tint the back window, and some may not even notice until the car starts up. However, the site says TurnKey which isn't a surprise. The Diablos by TurnKey are extremely impressive and even off engine covers.

Turnkey refers to a car the manafacturer has built themselves without need for the buyer to do anything at home. Turn the key and drive away.

I can't see how they can get the bonnet line so low with it being a front engined, front driver?

You can buy a bit that covers the back seats and looks like an engine. Like so.

Just for info the kit cuts off some of the rear pillar, removes the roof skin, slices down the centre of the roof, pushes the A pillars together, rebonds the screen further down to give it a shallower angle. You then bolt and bond the new panels onto subframes that bolt onto the original mounting points on the 406. Oh & the doors are slightly shortened & new striker points are attached.

The bumpers could actually be unbolted & put straight onto a real 360 with no modifications & only the returns back to the 406 body prevent all the other panels being interchangable with the real thing.

The kit retains the 4 seat set up but also has a fake engine firewall that sits ontop of the rear seats when they are folded down. The rear storage area is then filled with a fake engine including all wiring, pipes, crossmembers & detailing that is in the original car. This means at weekend you have a two seater mid engined!!! Wink Wink 360 & then during the week you can put the car back into 4 seat mode to take the kids etc. (The swap between the two takes about 3-4 mins)

Like I said there are modifications to the Peugeot to bring it to the dimensions of the 360.

The roof is cut down the centre with a section removed. The A pillar is then pushed in & back i.e effectively pivoting on the bottom of the A & B pillar. This results in a better rake on the window & reduces the height of the roof to that of the 360.

The wheelbase is altered by front lower arm & suspenson mods to bring it in line with the 360 wheelbase. The rear overhang is reduced by cutting off the rear panel etc & a shorter frame is put in its place. This along with removing sections from the front & angling the radiator forwards reduces the overall length.

The width is taken up using spacers on the wheels both front and back to make up the difference.

Also the sizes you are comparing are overall sizes, you need to compare wheelbase, front & rear track, etc without the bodywork.

As you pointed out the A pilar & screen is one of the areas where slight mods have had to be made since this is the only area where the original 406 remains. There are other areas where slight mods have had to be made where the kit comes into contact with the 406 but these are really minor & had to be pointed out to me & I am a serious saddo when it comes to ferraris.

Basically you aint gonna get any closer than this without buying the real thing.

F430 next!

Yes the height is perfect. They had a straight edge across the roof at the factory & I watched them measure it.

The car is lowered by a substantial amount & the arches are cut out & rewelded to allow for the increase in wheel size & large amount of lowering. The steering rod connects to the underside of the steering arm instead of the top to allow for the drop & to keep the geometry the same & prevent bump steer & with coil overs to lower it.

The rest of the height is lost during the roof chop. A strip from the centre section of the roof is removed along with some out of the b pillar & all of the c pillar. When you push the panels back together & reweld the roof ends up substantially lower. The front screen has to move position to account for all the mods to the roof.

Basically the panels are moulded directly from a real car with very minor mods to make it fit. You aren't really going to get any better than this without building a custom space frame chassis. I worship ferraris & I truly believe that 98% of people will not even question if this is real. Even when it starts up. I think comments I have read on the ferrari forum (genuine ferrari that is) sum it up. Basically they were commenting that it was wrong for someone to use pics of a real car when they were only producing replicas! Also at one of the shows a group of blokes walked past & commented "what are those idiots doing bringing ferraris to a kit show, noone here wants to buy a real one"
In person it is really convincing & you dont notice the 406 screen and slightly wider A pillars at all, which really are the only areas where minor changes were unavoidable.

You may need to apologise to your modem now....

That is quite an impressive replica, really. It sits a little high for me in 1 shot, but awesome none the less. It just needs some sort of modification to get a "Ferrari sound".

Actually, I missed out the funniest bit

I quote from the extreme-sportscars website:

Q3: How difficult is the 360 Ferrari replica body kit to fit?
A3: The kit can be fitted by most mechanically minded people.

Yeah, right.

This is wrong on so many levels... It takes a man with big cajones (and a very little brain) to cut into the skin of a 406 Coupe...

Frankly, this just disgusts me. I'll never understand the fake-supercar mentality. Then again, I hate fake boobs, too.

For the effort and cost of that conversion, you could have A) a real (albeit used) Ferrari, or B) a real custom car that would actually be original and wouldn't make you hide in shame whenever someone pointed out that it wasn't a Ferrari.

I felt the same way about the NSX Ferrari conversion.

The NSX to F50 one? That looked nice, and possibly even handled better because of it.
I do see your point though, and would like to add that the skinning of such a beautiful car as the 406 Coupe into an equally beautiful 360 seems odd to me, especially since the car is still FWD.

I don't get that as well. You build a fake Ferrari, with not having a single advantage. Car nuts will immediately recognise that it's fake, the ones that don't will ask questions on which the owner will have to answer that it's a fake, which is extremely awkward. So you don't fool anyone, and the risk of it being stolen is even higher than before. You have a lot of work, and all it does is not drive like a Ferrari and embarrass you. What's the point?

The only way I can probably understand it is thinking of it as a hobby, as something to do when you've done anything else with cars. There's no way to be taken seriously with that project though, apart from being a good mechanic maybe.

the Interceptor

Whoever said the 406 Coupe was equally beautiful (if beautiful at all) to a 360?? :)

It's way better looking than a 360 Modena... Way better than all the Ferraris that have been on sale in the past 5-6 years, even.
