the blue one does look quite sexy i think but...from what you're saying does that mean its powered by electricity?!?! i dont know what the avalon is/was when stock so i dunno really. if it had a jza80 supra engine this thing would be complete!

My aunt got one... my dad got in and pressed "start" him inside and me outside BOTH did not know the engine had actually started. I can see myself pressing start button over and over while the engine is on already. :dopey: It only has a 3.5-liter DOHC 24-valve Dual VVT-i V6 268 hp @ 6200 rpm.

WOW!! that is one seriously quiet car then! i bet if u put your foot down it would whine like a b**ch tho :P a 3.5 DOHC V6 @ 268hp seems like ample power to me. ask your aunt if you could take it for a spin to see how it 'performs' but dont let on the fact you're gonna thrash it! im interested to hear how it accelerates/handles and sounds at higher rpm's 👍

EDIT: oh and the car to the right of the hummer is a prius that has been posted here before

Just to let you know, that ain't a hummer...It's Toyota's ripoff version of an H1 that has been in production for a few years now. Its called the megacruiser.

It isn't a ripoff, considering it would out manuver an H1 anyday. It has larger clearance, and a better drivetrain. Not to mention you don't chafe sitting on the canvas seats.

When I'm bored... yes. But this time, they were both linked from elsewhere, and I thought I'd share the pain.

While the actual concept of a Honda Civic Cab is good, I must say that I do question the raising of the rear suspension to the removed roofline of said Civic.
What a poor, poor Porsche 911...Wait a minute...Is that a 935?! Those fascist Nazi pieces of... How dare they mess with an IMSA race car. At least the Civic Cab concept was cool. Who the hell wants a Moby Dick with half of it's already limited structual rigidity? At least on that car the spoiler isn't questionable at all.
@toyomatt84: While it isn't hard to improve a car that was poorly thought out in the 70's, especially if Toyota is doing it, the car is still, quite technically, a rip-off, in the vein that it is not a H1 but steals the H1's looks quite heavily.

The car is on hydros, it can lift probably 14-18 inches off the ground and should be able to lay out if it doesn't suck. But what gets me is how the hell the fit the pump set up in a Civic.

That thing looks like a piece of s***. Out manuver on the road? Could that be because that the H1 was built with military all pupose vehical in mind.

Don't comment when you know absolutely nothing about the vehicle's specifications. Thanks.

Let's compare the two fully loaded.

Totally even. :dunce: The Toyota can even hold more than 4 people! Granted, so can a Neon, but the mighty H1 can only hold 4 in extreme discomfort.

Even the Lamborghini beats the Hummer. And, snap son, it was made in the 80's too! Even before the H1 in fact! Price for this: $79,000 - $97,500 ($113,000 - $140,500 with inflation correction). And it can manage to eclipse 100 MPH! How novel.

Face it, the Hummer H1 was, is, and always will be, total garbage.

The Mercedes G-Wagen came before the H1 (was released to the public in 1979, the same year that the Army first proposed the idea of a Hummer), is another Military-derived, rugged, hardcore off-roader that turned luxurious, seats 5 people comfortably, and a 2005 model goes for an MSRP of $81,675, or $105,275 if you go for the G55 AMG model.

I'd trust Mercedes over GM when it comes to solidity, reliability, and ruggedness any day of the week. Besides, although the nickname "G-Wagen," when pronounced in German, is pronounced "gay-vahgin," a "hummer" is *censored*

xXSilencerXx
You sound like the typical American hater. Like I said earlier the H1 was built for the military. There is a thread somewhere which proves the H1 came before that hunk o **** lambo.

Here it is

That doesn't excuse you from knocking the better of the two. Nice try, though.

Here it is
The Lamborghini went into production for civilian use before the H1 did. 6 full years before. All that thread proves was that the HMMWV came out before the LM002. Not the H1.
Hummer H1 sold from 1992 to present.
Lamborghini Sold 1986-1993.
Since I was talking about production comparisons (and not for military applications) on both such occasions, and because civilian models are held to just a wee bit higher of a standard than military vehicles, not only did the LM002 come out before the H1, but it is still a better vehicle. And whether the Cheetah was based on the Humvee prototype does not matter, because the LM002 shares very little with the Cheetah anyways. It was based on the LMA002. The LM001 was based on the Cheetah. Lamborghini Cheetah. Lamborghini LM001. Lamborghini LMA002. Lamborghini LM002. Also, as you said, the H1 was built for the military. So was the LM002. The same military, in fact, if you believe that the LM002 was based on the Cheetah, which was designed for the U.S. military.
Proof.

[font=Arial,Helvetica,Times,Courier][font=Arial,Helvetica,Times,Courier]
The decision to use an American made engine was probably made to gain the U.S.-Army contract, but it was very soon obvious the U.S. wouldn't invest in anything built outside the United States, and the Cheetah was rejected almost at once, it was however tested in desert runs, and was subsequently crashed during one of those test.
