Slammed is always questionable, right?

Why is this in here? Looks fantastic. Nice drop, no stupid amounts of camber, no really silly amounts of stretch...

Ah, that's right, this is the "Pictures of Cars I Find Questionable because I don't Know Anything about it's Background Thread".

Same as coolness really. Some people find it questionable, some don't. Personally I find slamming a waste of a good car and a waste of good money. Granted, I don't know much about the scene and that's just my utilitarian principles. If I was to drop a pile of money into suspension it'd be uprated shocks, tires and bushings rather than something that adds unecessary complexity and weight in order to make it look (debatably) good when it's parked. But that's me and I don't see anything bad in someone preferring different things. Afterall, some might find my tastes questionable. That being said - if I saw that E46, I'd post it in this thread too.

That's the thing. Is it just against your tastes, or is it questionable? Exact same as calling a car uncool. Is it uncool or do you just not like it?

Good thing not everyone in the world is trying to make a wannabe track car 👍

The goal of these cars is usually not to be a track car and to be more of a cruiser. So why judge it for it not being that, when it's not trying to be?

Let me give you an example. Ricers. Ridiculous paintjobs, bodykits and stick-ons. Here on GTP everyone will agree that it's questionable but there you have that group of people who like that and find it tasteful. By your definition it's a different taste and opinion. And that is correct. Nothing is by definition actually questionable - all it is is a difference of opinions and tastes. And every group tends to grow a general opinion - post a lime green Peugeot 106 with an alien spoiler, chrome rims and mall stickers all over here in the Tasteful Mods thread and you'll hardly get any positive responses.

Same thing with coolness. Even here people use different criteria to define coolness, so we have a difference of opinions right away. Perception of coolness depends on the things the person associates the car with. Since we all here are petrolheads, to us facts like "It was owned by McQueen" or "It dominated a racing series" add coolness to a car because we know those things. People outside the car world don't know any of that and so might find the said car uncool.

Damn it, I was about to quote him and say the wheels aren't bad, just need them smaller.

But don't forget teh tire profile either. I don't this a Camaro would look cool as a lowrider either. Well, who knows.
Camaros shouldn't be lowriders either. You can go a little bit either up or down, but any further and it starts to look stupid.

Hmm.... Just a guess, but maybe, just maybe I found it questionable? So what if you don't think it is?

Edit: @Leicht, much closer, but the grill is still just a bit off.

Cool or uncool. Tasteful or questionable. It's all down to personal taste. If someone thinks an aspect of car culture is 'questionable' then they're right in posting it in this thread. It wouldn't be much of thread without 'personal tastes' Every car featured has appealed positively to some people's tastes, even if that's just the owner/builder. A stanced car is no different to a donk or a riced Civic or a Veilside Supra or a Chrysler minivan with a Mugan sunshade decal in that regard.

If he has the parts, then cool. If not...

Rim color is worth 50 hp, each additional exhaust is 100.

That's the thing. Nothing is questionable about it. It's a lowered car with nice wheels. I don't think anyone can go "what the hell????? what was he thinking??? putting nice wheels and lowering it wow he must not have a clue about cars11!!"

It's not questionable, it's just not to your taste.

If this was about things I don't like, I could find an umpteen amount of cars that look nice but have awful wheels, but I can put in here due to me not liking them...

Honestly, what is questionable? The wheels aren't horrendous, and it's not even that low. That's about it for modifications on the car.

You don't have to like low cars, but at least respect the scene.

I'd understand more if it was scraping the ground (though personally I'd find that cool) and/or had dangerous amounts of stretch with stupid camber level, but it doesn't.

It's questionable to me. It's a family saloon but it's dropped so low and has more than enough camber to make it a pain in the ass to do the daily commute. It's all about 'look' without making it any better a vehicle to do what it was designed to do. In fact the opposite.

It's not like it's a flash car that's going to turn anyone's head, it's a 3 Series BMW, it's one of the most common cars on the roads. In Europe at least.

And it doesn't really matter if the rims are AMG (or replicas) because the owner doesn't have the AMG body kit or even the badge. It's not like he's trying to fool anyone.
